Worked so well, I bought another for the front!!
This things is both incredibly effective and disgusting!!!! Hahaha! We’ve had a big issue with flies this year for some reason and it was driving me crazy! I set this out on our back porch and I was SHOCKED at all the flies that just kept coming and were trapped!!!! The first one I received did NOT have the food coloring added to it and it smelled gross after a week or so, but it wasn’t overwhelming. Just smelled like yeast and death. 😬😅 It worked SO well, I decided to get one for the front of my house because I was having an issue there, too! The second one had the extra good coloring ingredient. Not really sure the reason for it, but this one smelled AWFUL pretty much from the beginning. I’m guessing it’s some reaction between the yeast and coloring agents. I was really glad it was out front away from where we hang out, but every time I would mow, I would almost gag at the smell LOL! Thankfully no one complained and it eliminated my fly problem!!!! Also…The material is absolutely phenomenal quality. I was super impressed. It is definitely good enough quality to re-use, however….I agree with others in that I would much rather just throw it away and buy a new one. Cleaning this thing out would not be for the faint of heart!! 😂

GREAT Fly Trap! Works Wonders! Fly Population Plummeted by 90% or More!
My Mom has a big house on a large ranch where we use thousands of tons of chicken litter from the many local chicken farms to fertilize our hay meadows. Chicken litter (the straw and waste from the chicken houses) is a byproduct of the industry that must be disposed of and it makes great fertilizer. However, when you spread it out, all the fly eggs in it are able to hatch and you get a blizzard of flies! A BLIZZARD! It's actually good because the billions of maggots that emerge across the fields eat through the waste in the litter and process it and make all the nutrients more bioavailable for the grass to absorb. It's just part of how Nature works. Anyway, for a couple month each Spring and early Summer, she is besieged with flies and can't really sit outside on her porch. I saw these on Amazon and thought I would try them and sat two of them out on her huge porch and the fly population plummeted by 90% or more! REALLY!! In just a few days, the flies disappeared (well they ended up in the buckets!) They do work very well! But they do STINK!

1st bucket ordered worked fabulously. 2nd time ordering was a dud.
This was our second time purchasing the fly trap bucket with bait, but something is wrong with the bait. Our first smelled literally like an outhouse (after it was mixed with water and in the bucket for a week, but this one just simply smells like regular yeast like you make bread with. If I didn't bake bread I would have just thought maybe the company changed what they use for odor, but after a month it still has no smell and has caught very few flies. Usually by this time the flies would practically fill the bucket swarming around inside. The first one worked very well. There are cows 20 yds from our house and we practically had no flies last year, so we bought a second one to clear up the rest. Hopefully we just got something that was a mistake in the mixing of the powder? If you could just replace it with what you normally use I will update my review. Thanks so much.

I set out to test all the baited jug type fly traps in my chicken coop and run…
I liked the look of an size of this trap i really expected to fill it with dead flies, repeatedly over the summer and fall. It looked like it would really work and be an improvement on the other more basic traps. It was more expensive than all the other more effective traps that were tested. So it’s about the end of the outdoor fly season. Time to take down all the various traps. This one was placed in a very target rich environment. It was hung In a protected and covered area directly over a large compost pile a location where the chickens get fed all sorts of stuff from the kitchen and the garden. Other traps were placed in the coop and around the perimeter. Even though it was in one of the most infested areas, and protected from the rain and wind it failed to catch as many flies as a simple milk jug with at topper. Maybe One problem was it had trouble staying fully open the design can allow the top to come down on an angle. I was constantly checking it and propping it back up. Even so that isn’t much of an excuse there are a lot of flies in that area Bottom line this trap promises to catch and hold a lot of flies but underperforms dramatically. Even though I added an extra pack of fly bait. IMO. Save some $ get a starbar or even better use those yellow and black jug toppers that fit on juice or milk jugs. You can save the original cap and then they are the easiest to dispose of no clean up and the cheapest to use. For best results Be sure to properly bait whatever trap you use.

Worked well at first but the smell is putrid
I had this bucket out in a different area for 2 days. It got about 50 flies and I was impressed. We feed some alley cats and their food attracts an insane amount of flies. This morning I moved it closer to where the majority of the flies were swarming. Less than 8 hours later I went to check on it and found this monstrosity!! This product is no joke. There’s at least 2000 flies that were caught today. I’m so glad it works but also disgusted to see how many got trapped in only 8 hours. I will absolutely be buying again!! UPDATE: less than a week later and I had to toss it. This thing traps lots of flies but smelled like a porta potty that had not been cleaned in 3 weeks and left to bake in the hot sun- gagging when i tried to walk past it. The worst part was the larvae that began growing in the bucket. Hundreds of them writhing around. This bucket definitely traps them, but it does not kill them. Not one of them sank into the liquid or “drowned” as the product says it does. Not sure why they were just floating. If you have a minimal-medium fly problem this could work for you, but if you have a big fly problem this is not going to do the trick.

Works as directed!
I ate breakfast on the deck this morning and was not bothered by flies. I’d say it works . We suffer from black flys something fierce. Nothing I have tried has ever eliminated them. This is a good solution so far. I followed the directions for the yeast and hung it up on the outside part of my fence. (About 10-12 feet away from where we sit on the inside of the fence, but within 6 feet to the trash cans in the outside of the fence where the flies like to nest and breed. Today is the second day it has been in use and as you can see from the picture it has attracted and captured many flies. Now the mixture is just yeast, so it should be warm enough outside for the yeast to bloom and do its thing to attract the flies. I imagine it is going to get nasty as it fills up. I expect there will also me some maggot larva eventually. My husband will have to deal with the emptying and cleaning of that grossness. I imagine when it’s time to empty and refill with fresh one could just use regular yeast rather than buy the refills. But I haven’t tried that yet . I did not notice any bad odors as others have mentioned. But I am a professional baker and used to the smell of yeast so maybe that’s why?

Nightmare fuel but effective
First couple of days ...nothing. JUST WAIT fam. Be patient. After about 5-7 days a subtle, yet putrid smell will begin releasing from the bucket and it attracts all of the flying evil little devils lurking in your yard and right into the bucket. We placed it out on the back porch and within the time span of about a month or so The entire bucket was filled right down to the very bottom. 🤢🤢 Every day it was like a morbid spectator sport with family members placing bets on how far down the fly graveyard would go. In fact, The bucket was STILL accumulating flies when I finally begged my husband to replace it with a new one bc the image of so many disgusting grotesque evil twitching fly carcasses was starting to make me dry heave in my mouth. Worth every single penny imo. Sorry I don't have a picture to upload in my review but I did NOT want to have that nasty image on my phone. Maybe I'll edit it once this new one fills up. It works. Again, I have to emphasize to my fellow impatient people out there that you have to give it at least a week to really "ripen" up. Once the suckers get in there, they are NOT getting back out. Make sure to place it somewhere away from general outdoor traffic and sitting areas. The smell it gives off isn't completely intolerable but it's no bed of roses either not to mention the sight of it. 🤢🤢 I give it a 9.5 out of 10. Only gripe would be the slight odor and the fact that it takes awhile to reach maximum fly genocide effecciacy

This Works and is Easy to Use
This product is well made for its purpose. You just pour in the non-toxic packet of fly attractor, add water, and place outside. As soon as the mixture activates (1-2 days), flies go for it! I had a swarm of flies in my patio area that made it impossible to enjoy sitting outside. I put this down about 6 ft away from the patio near my jasmine trellis and in two days ALL the flies were in the trap and gone from my patio. I like that this is non-toxic. The main ingredient is yeast. Yeast does not smell bad nor will cause any problem should it spill on the ground. The plastic container is sturdy enough to hold everything safely and you can clean it out and reuse it. I have ordered more packets of the yeast mixture to do just that. It does not hang so you need to make sure you have a level place to set it on. I bought a different brand that was supposed to hang, but it quickly came undone, fell and the bag burst open. The Flybuster doesn't have that problem! I love this product and highly recommend it.
