What is the maximum lb test line this reel can handle?

I use 65 lb braid for heavy cover and it casts like a dream. Baitcasters typically cast better with heavy line. I use 30 lb braid on all my other reels.

The number of bearing means nothing. The QUALITY of the bearings is everything. The Shimano slx is high quality for a reasonable price

What rod to buy with it

Shimano makes the slx rod that would go nicely with this, but you could really use any bait casting rod. The shimano convergence is good.
