Perfect for my niece and nephew
I bought these as a gift for my niece (age 1) and nephew (age 3) because the jumbo crayons they had were broken and came in only 8 colors. This set hits a good combination of quality, variety, and price, and I’m pretty sure I’ll purchase more in the near future due to frequent use. Usually my niece and nephew lose interest in coloring after 10-15 minutes, but we spent hours coloring the first day, and the day after (and apparently the third day, based on feedback from my brother)! My niece is in charge of picking crayons for everyone, and she was delighted to have 24 colors to choose from. We didn’t have to push down so hard to get rich, dark coloring from these crayons, so I was able to help my nephew work on holding his crayon in a better position. One negative, though, is that the paper slides down the crayons fairly easily. One more positive: my nephew enjoyed using the container as his suit case when pretending to check into a hotel. The tray is easy to remove and reinsert as needed.

Vibrant colors
Nice vibrant colors, smooth to use. Good size for 16 month old hands. Container is nice and solid, great for transport. Update: 9/27/16 So since my first review, my son has eaten a chunk of the turqoiuse crayon. He chewed the chunk into crumbly pieces. It must not have tasted as yummy as it looked because he bought it to my attention by handing me the remaining crayon. He's owned the crayons for sometime by then and I was under the false impression that he no longer had interest in eating crayons (the truth is I never gave him an opportunity until then). I was able to dig out most of the crayon from his mouth and rinse his mouth with water, but still I was freaking out and mad at myself for leaving him unsupervised with it while I washed dishes. The next day, i found little crumbs of crayon in his stool- looked totally undigested. The plus, is he's gotten crayon-eating out of his system, literally. He'll walk around with a crayon in his hand but he's lost interest in eating it. Sometimes he'll tease me by holding it next to his mouth and grinning, but its just to see my expression. He's also colored on the walls (just once- I caught him hiding in the corner doing the deed behind his diaper pail) and accidentally rubbed pigment on the bedding, carpet, clothes, and rugs. The crayons are soft so the simple act of trodding or sitting on the crayon will leave marks on the surface. It doesn't help that my son peeled all the paper wrappers off too. The great thing is with a little wet wipes or Shout stain remover- the crayon marks wipe right off! There is still a faint crayon residue on the wall but I think a Magic Eraser will take care of it. We still love these crayons! So much easier to use then crayola.

Faber-Castell: The Crayon Glow-Up I Needed
Picked these up after Crayola broke my heart, and WOW. The difference is instant. Smooth laydown, rich pigments, zero wax chunks. They actually blend instead of fighting the paper. Even the light colors show up clearly. You can feel the quality the moment you touch them—they’re like the luxury spa version of crayons

Best Crayons So Far!
We really love these crayons. They are easily held and used by my 2 and 4 year old. The colors are the most vibrant I have encountered. The children appreciate that all colors are vibrant. When they used crayons that had a dull color like Melissa and Doug their interest was not kept. They have used P'kolino, Melissa and Doug and Crayola, I believe these are their favorites. The only down side is that they do break a little easier than the Melissa and Doug and P'kolino. But the break has been a clean one and a narrow doubled piece of duct tape seems to be doing the trick in keeping the two broken pieces together and the children have been able to use the crayon. The carrying case keeps the crayons safe. I would highly recommend the purchase.

Good Alternative to Crayola
The smell! The colors! What's not to like?! These actually appear to be real deal as far as beeswax crayons are concerned. My research poking around the Internet has led me to the conclusion that these are closest thing you'll get to Crayola colors and still be a beeswax crayon. As it turns out, many other supposed beeswax crayons actually are a mixture of beeswax and paraffin wax (i.e. petroleum product). Stockmar, for example, are not 100% beeswax, but contain this mixture. However, these Faber-Castell are beeswax from what I've so far found and knowing how beeswax smells and feels. Caveat: I am not saying these are 100% beeswax. They do contain other ingredients, but the ingredients according to Faber-Castell do not include petroleum based products. In addition, this is just my opinion on having dealt with real beeswax products and with several different crayon sets. Several questions have come up though. Faber-Castell will not release what the pigments are consist of because it's proprietary information and exactly where the beeswax is coming from is also questionable. But getting down to their performance as a crayon for toddlers I give them a B+. They are fat and triangle shape, so they fit my son's hands and don't roll. The colors are super vibrant and wax just lets the crayon glide along the paper. The one downside is that paper wrapping slides off easily and because this does contain beeswax and warmth from hands facilitates the paper coming off. These also seem to break and crumble slightly more than Crayola, but since they are a chunky crayon and my son is 2 it's not a major concern. I find the carrying case bulky and unnecessary, but my son loves taking the crayons out and in and over again. And the smell! That sweet, intoxicating smell indicative of beeswax just hits you! I love coloring simply because of the smell!

These are good quality and good colours and the carry case is great too. I bought 3 packs for around £8 each, though I see the price is almost double now, and some places are selling them for over £100..do people pay these prices?? I was happy paying £8 for them, but feel £14.00 upwards is a bit pricey .... 5out5 for quality, but I believe they are too highly priced on Amazon now.
