I bought one for myself 6 years ago it's been working fine. And now I'm buying one for my girlfriend's house.

The 36DB gain is both positive and negative. It's easy to attempt to use too much gain when there is too little signal - this isn't the fault of the unit whatsoever - poor signal received cannot be cleaned up/improved past a certain point as your gain setting will amplify the signal defects along with the good signal. This unit is best utilized in fringe areas where you can gain enough signal amplification without amplyfing all of the signal defects that cause those great HDTV blobs to appear on the screen. I use a 60' radio tower with an amplified channelmaster antenna and use this to drive that signal with great results.

This is ideal for enhancing the internal antenna signal. Pulling in signals from over 50 miles away.

This little unit did just what the seller said it would: It took a weak signal and made it stronger. This unit is to replace an old Radio Shack one I had that finally after 30 years, quit. I am in a mountainous area and getting a good signal is a problem, even though I have a high-mounted antenna. If one is expecting this to bring in every channel, forget it. You can't amplify signal if there is none to amplify. But the weak ones, the ones that the picture cuts in and out and sometimes does not come in at all, well those you can get to see with this unit. It does what it should do, I'm happy.

I purchased this Model KF-235 Distribution Amplifier to replace a Radio Shack TV Antenna Amplifier that I thought was in the process of "dying", after being in service for at least 20 years. Location of Antenna and Amplifier is in the attic, and subjected to extreme heat, here in the Desert South West. I was very excited and impressed when the KF-235 arrived! By the look of this amplifier, it appears to be a very well made high quality product, and had the all-important "Gain Adjust" control that sold me on this item. After removing the old, and installing the new, I scanned for channels on my TV, and was surprised to see that the number of "Channels Found" had actually DECREASED to 33, compared to 54, from the R.S. Amp.. These results were with both units having their Gain Adjusts at minimum (fully CCW). Red Power Indicator on the KF-235 was "ON". Okay ... so I thought it's time to increase the Gain on the new KF-235 and good things were about to happen. Unfortunately, not true. My Toshiba TV has a "Signal Strength Indicator" that can be observed, for each channel, while in the set-up menu. I used this to document signal level changes on each channel as I systematically adjusted the Gain Control being set at: 8 O'clock (33 Channels Found), 10 O'clock (29 Channels Found), 12 O'clock (37 Channels Found), 2 O'clock (39 Channels Found), and 5 O'clock (37 Channels Found) positions. Apparently, the Gain Control was doing SOMETHING, however, the individual signal levels for each channel WERE NOT increasing, and no improvement occurred in channels having pixilated video. I spent MANY HOURS taking data from the Signal Strength Indicator, for each channel, trying to find the "sweet spot" for improved reception, but could not. Bottom line ... this KF-235 Distribution Amplifier appears to be a very well made high quality product! IT'S POSSIBLE THAT I RECEIVED A DEFECTIVE UNIT, however, I've found another (Name Brand) TV Antenna Amplifier that I'll be ordering / trying, and returning this one. Very much wish this one had worked for me! DISAPPOINTED !!!

This device boosts my over-the-air digital signal quite well. Will amend this review should any problems arise in the future.

I tried it in a few different connections. It did not have any output. I returned it and got a refund.

I recommend this signal booster for its clarity and solid design. I use it to boost signal to many monitors in my recording studio. I have purchased two of the units. The boosters arrived on time and to my door.
