Heavy Duty Lid Stay Hinges Folding Lid Support Hinge,Perfect for Cabinet,Closet,Wardrobe or Toybox 110 Degree (Heavy Duty Style 1 Pair)

Nice hinges! They work as advertised. Instructions are a bit lacking and I had to figure out alternative way to mount the brackets but it works great. The instructions really only give you a measurement (in millimeters and you have to either convert it or hope you got a measuring tape with duals) I'm using these on some cabinets in my Mallard trailer. The doors were always a pain and made these cabinets kind of a hassle. The new hinges mount perfectly and hold the door up at a perfect 90 degrees. Adjustable with the included allen key. All hardware was included as well. Check out the pictures. Had to show how I just reversed the side bracket on each door. After I figured that out the install went smooth as can be.

I LOVE these things. I'd been looking for hinges like this forever and couldn't find any that were what I needed. I used these to keep the lid open on a nice diy cat litter box cabinet (plywood box lol) where the lid never opens more than about 75*. These hold the lid in place beautifully and then you just push it down to close. These are NOT soft closing hinges lol. Installation wasn't terribly, but I did end up having to take the thing off and put it back on because I originally installed it where it would hit into itself during close and then wouldn't close all the way, but once I worked that out it was great.

I have used these on two toy boxes and they work pretty good. My only concern is that they drop the lid when it’s about 80% down. I put a rubber spacer on the lids so as to not squish little fingers.

I messed around with three other types of stay hinges before taking a chance with these - the bottom line, these work - they will keep your lid open, and also allow for a soft close (but not necessarily a controlled close - like with a pneumatic piston). Like others, to start I thought the directions were a bit difficult, I tried to follow them, and in the end just decided to go on my own. I opened my lid to the desired angle, then positioned the hinges (I installed two) so that they would close, ensuring the hinge pivot would be below the top of my box when the lid was closed, and the arm just barely missed the back of the box when the lid was open. I adjusted the tension (a great feature), and it works like a charm - the first hinge took 5 minutes to install as I figured out the placement, the second took 45 seconds. Here's the kicker, when I went back and measured where I installed the hinge and referenced it back to the instructions (with a bit of metric translation from Google), the directions were dead on. So, in the end, these are very easy to install without the instructions, but if you choose to follow the instructions, the measurements are perfect. My measurements were (for a lid that is open at about 105 degrees) - On the box - 5 3/8" down, 1 1/4" from the back. On the lid - 2" from the back edge (and straight up and down in relation to the box). Hope this is helpful - Btw, I painted the hinges, I don't believe they are sold in this color.

If you search " IKEA ferrari cabinet hinges" these will show up. The look the same, they even have similar decorative elements. But they are not the same. If you are going to knock-off a design to act as a replacement for the IKEA Ferrari cabinet hinge, then why not make it the same? 1st I was disappointed that the new arms did not fit directly onto the old brackets, ugh. 2nd the new bracket's holes were too small to accept the IKEA fat screws. So I re-drilled them to 1/4 inch 3rd The inside cabinet brackets stuck out when they went in the same holes, so I had to re-drill the cabinet 4th the holes in the door bracket are spaced differently to the IKEA brackets, so those to, had to be re-drilled Also there were no instructions on how to assemble the plastic collars and other pieces. They work, they are not as smooth as the authentic hinges. Maybe someone mentioned this already but don't buy them as a replacement. If anyone knows of another that is. a closer mimic, please let me know below!

These were a huge disappointment. First of all, instructions. Where are they? There were some installation measurements on the packaging but you need to know more than that. I figured it out, I think, but they wouldn’t hold any weight. I had them installed on a small lightweight chest. They would hold the lid open past about 70 degrees. Anything less than that it would slam shut. I had them set to the strongest setting. Didn’t matter. So then I wanted to loosen the setting on them to look at something, and one of them stripped out and the wrench would just spin. I just ended up taking them off.

So these are basically knock-offs of a tried-and-true Ikea hinge (that they no longer sell and originals go for $40 each now). This hinge has been a big hit with campervan enthusiasts as it allows for loading while still allowing the lid to articulate, something you won't get using a piston-stay. Just point the dial-looking thing to articulate inwards when it closes the lid and making sure the two plastic washers are on the mounting bolt (one inwards, one outwards) are the only thing to remember. Easy to install - just common sense, and easy to adjust tension using the included allen key.

I bought this for a bench to replace the hinges that didn’t stay open. These work perfectly.
