I got lucky. This fuel sensor kit fit my 1981 CJ5 Jeep with the original metal 15 gallon tank. So far its been working well and the reading is showing accurate. It was a good part selection for me. Review: Nice replacement sending unit for 15 gallon CJ7 tank. - I tested the ohm readings on this unit when it first arrived and again when I dropped the tank to replace the old one to compare results. This one read correctly while the old unit had obvious errors below a 1/2 tank. Might need to squirt a little WD40 on the moving float level hinge to get a smooth up and down motion but otherwise it works fine. I've got a poly replacement tank.
