Is this automatically lower bread or after putting bread in do you have to press a lever down?

To toast the bread you put the bread in the top slot and push down the lever. When it’s done toasting it will automatically drop into the lower tray

Does this toast 2 Slices of rye bread which of course is much longer than standard size breads? Does it toast the entire slice evenly

When I toasted rye bread I cut the ends off of the bread to the standard size of white bread so that it would fit two pieces into the slot.
