How wide is the Atlantic?
Perfectly fine condition, though the Atlantic and delivery from New York seemed to present unexpected obstacles.

One of the best books for Students and Researchers
It is one of the best books on the market for students and researchers. We often face a blank page not knowing how to get started. Williams gets us back to basics, he recommends to tell a story and choosing the story before we start writing. Another very useful suggestion is to use basic original English to write about complicated concepts. Too many researchers think they write intelligent research while using complex words. But written more directly, the message comes across more clearly. I have recommended this book to all English and non English speakers who had to write in English. Read it for half an hour before you start writing, you'll notice the dramatic improvement of your writing. It is must buy.

The book is really soiled and bruised.
The book was ain a really bad condition with much written inside it which makes it really difficult to use. I wish I had known this before from the description on the website.

Fantastic read. This book has opened my eyes on how to properly produce clear and direct prose. I write grant proposals in my line of work, and to produce a successful proposal you have to sell a story to prospect funders. This book has allowed me to properly gather my ideas and present them in a coherent, clear, and persuasive way to my readers. I want to emphasize that the first chapter gives a persuasive analysis of what makes writing (especially scholarly/academic writing-I am looking at the legal field especially) turgid and unclear. The rest of the chapters build from this discussion. I did not read this book in one sitting. I read one chapter a day, and as necessary, reread/skimmed certain chapters that covered areas that applied to my own writing style. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their writing. A bit of a caveat, and the author (RIP) may disagree with me, but I believe that prior to reading this book, it may help to refresh yourself on basic grammar rules (especially for definitions).

All I need to say is that I’ve received an A on every single paper I’ve written since reading this book (so far). It honestly is great. It’s extremely clear and actually tells you HOW to write clearly instead of just telling you to write clearly. I will be returning to this book frequently to continue to improve my writing.

A critical guideline to writing academic work. This book helped me to open up my potential to writing and research, as well as coordinating my thoughts in a cohesive and concise manner.

I’ve used this book for years and just re-purchased it (other one lost in a fire) to give my granddaughter as she goes off to college. Simply the best writing book you can have. Simple techniques, demonstrated so that you can actually see the impact. Not wordy. Even if you just open the book at random, you will see the potential. Anyone who writes even a memo, or a note, will understand the impact these techniques have, and if better writing for business, management, academics, is your goal. This is my recommendation. If you can only have one writing coach/book, get this one. This book is so successful, it has been in print for 50 years all over the world. I bought the used older version (yellow cover) because of price difference, and the older version is the one that made the book, famous, right?
