SiriusXM SXV300V1 Satellite Radio Vehicle Tuner, Add to Any SiriusXM-Ready Car Stereo (SXV300V1)

Receiver works well. Easy to connect. Take your time placing/installing the antennae.While I know the manufacturer "suggests" where to locate the antennae (roof) I decided to try what was easy first and thus far it's been a success. I have an older model Camry 4-Dr Sedan with a relatively flat trunk lid which is where I opted to place the antennae. I placed the antennae centered on the trunk lid at a point closest to the back window with the wiring facing the back windshield. I fed the wiring up under the trunk lid and used zip ties to anchor the wiring to the underneath side of the trunk lid and down the hinge (I opted for the passenger side) and then began to feed the wiring through the trunk and under trim work until I reach under the passenger side of the dash where I secured the receiver and connected the wiring.Things to watch for using this location for the antennae are 1) Will I experience any interference with the stock antennae in the back window of the car? 2) Will there be an instance when I have a weak signal because the trunk lid is blocked by the roof? 3) Will the trunk lid pinch the antennae wire that I run under the lid between the car's molding for the trunk?Thus far I've had no issues with the signal and I see no signs of the wire being pinched.What I like about this location is it required no mod to the car and no major work of removing and reinstalling a window seal. I also like that if "for whatever reason" I want to conceal the antennae I can simply open the trunk and put stick on the underneath side of the trunk lid until I am ready to use again. Such an example would be an automated car wash where I might want to tuck away the antennae until I am done. If I follow the suggested installation I can't do this. But best of all the installation was simple. I'll keep it this way until I start experiencing issues.

Make sure you have a Sirius / XM radio marked as “Sirius/XM Ready”!The manufacturer claims this is “The BOMB!” for easy installation, and it really is, directions were straightforward and simple enough, and it worked perfectly straight out of the box! I have been an XM and/or Sirius customer since 2001 and will continue to be one for the foreseeable future.This model is EASY, everything fit perfectly, reception is excellent, if you want satellite radio without having to get the “factory” radio (with the “Factory” price tag”), make this your satellite radio receiver!

When I saw “SiriusXM ready” on the radio box, I thought, “Awesome, plug it in and let the music roll!” Nope. Turns out “ready” actually means “ready to spend more money.” So here I am, buying an extra antenna just to unlock the feature I assumed was included.The antenna itself? Solid performance, easy install, and it has a magnetic base — so you can slap it onto anything metal (I stuck mine on the windshield frame). A double-sided sticky pad would work just as well if you’re feeling crafty. Now I’ve got all the glorious satellite channels I wanted… I just wish they came without the surprise shopping trip.

A very easy hookup that required no tools for me. The antenna easily mounts magnetically on the roof... very strong magnet there. The wire goes in under the rubber seal on the door, ran the wire behind the stereo and just plugged it into my Sony XAV-6000 unit while it was off. After that and signing up, it found the signal to activate it within about 5 min.Sound quality is pretty decent as well. But it required no wire cutting, no splicing, etc. The unit just had a DIN plug into the stereo and the antenna plugged into it and attached to the car. It couldn't be simpler. Plus, with the subscription, I get the stations on my phone as well. This will be really nice on a road trip where I don't have to deal with bad reception and a short range of about 50 miles for a station in each area... I hope to take this on a long car trip by next year to Canada and hope to test it further with reception.

Very easy to install, works great!

I purchased this item in order to retain SiriusXM to an aftermarket car stereo I was installing in my 2007 F150. I hooked it up to a Kenwood Excelon DDX6902S. It is small, compact and easy to install. It has an input for the satellite antenna and one output to the stereo. There are also two places for zip ties in order to secure this unit to the main wire bundle/harness or other hard point on the vehicle. Installation was very simple as long as you have some idea how to route, secure, and hide the wire to the antenna. On my truck, I was able to utilize the third brake light on the back of the cab in order to mount the antenna and route the wire inside of the vehicle. From there, I ran the wire through the roof, to the C-Pillar, through the kick panel on the driver's side, and then behind the dash to where the stereo sits. Some vehicles will require more invasive techniques. If you are not comfortable with these modifications, you may want to have a professional install this item, but I really believe that any do-it-yourselfer can handle the installation. I should also note that the antenna puck is magnetic and sticks very well to the roof of your vehicle without the need for any adhesives.Once the antenna is installed and routed all you need to do is activate the tuner. I used the online tool to switch radios and my new head unit was working within 5 minutes. Connection and integration was very simple. I am very satisfied with this product and recommend it for anyone that needs to integrate satellite radio into a car/truck stereo. Compact, easy to hook up, and easy to operate.

easy to install works great. i was tired of having my old sirius mounted on the dash. now i dont, it plays right through the radio. I use to have 30 min of record time only for the channel i was listening to. now i got 18 presets they record even when im not listening to the station and for 1 hr i didnt know what i was missing out on until i got this. it records 18 hrs of sirius now.

It's a bit tricky to run the wire to the antenna that must be outside on the roof but.... other than that it's amazing and love the XM programs. Much better than local radio. :-)
