Bang for buck
We splurge on caviar for NYE each year and this year decided to include Markys Siberian Sturgeon. It was perfect. Ordered online and it came in, in 2 days, the day before NYE. Came fresh and packaged well. I would say it’s perfect for beginners! Well worth the cost and my husband and I agreed we would purchase again from Markys!

It tastes like a manufactured product
On a scale of ten the quality of the caviar was a six! It looks good but the taste was not close to the taste of more expensive varieties. If you are using it as a topping on another dish it will be possible to get another rating.

Terrible Caviar do not bother
I will preface this, writing reviews is not an activity I ever do, but in this occasion I felt compelled to voice my opinion. Do not purchase this product if you actually enjoy Caviar. There is absolutely no flavor or taste, and no Caviar popping mouth sensation. As a consumer you will get the same enjoyment in a seaweed based $10 product opposed to the $100 plus of this awful supposed Caviar offering. Now, the actual service from the seller was top notch, great shipping, and bulletproof packaging lending to what should have been a fresh and delicious experience. The entire room of family on Christmas Eve had the same reaction, let down, and bland disgust. I would give it less stars if possible.

Meh (but maybe that's just how I feel about caviar).
I write this review acknowledging that I know very little about caviar and have purchased two jars lifetime, this being the most expensive. My review is intended as an "everyman" reaction to eating the biggest batch of caviar I've been privileged to enjoy. According to what I read, this particular species is only one notch behind beluga, and the brand is about as highly-regarded as any other non-beluga type or brand. I'm coming to the conclusion that caviar just ain't all that, best I can tell. I would've rated this particular batch as two-star, as the product was initially less unctuous than I had expected, only very lightly flavored (in a good way, but reminding me a little bit of canned kipper snacks only fainter in flavor). As I worked my way down the jar, the product became more unctuous and flavorful, with a hint of gooey free liquid among the eggs, compared to the top of the jar where the eggs were dry. For the last third of the jar, I'd say the product was four star, so the review score seeks to split the difference. The best of the several ways in which I ate the caviar was on a bilini slathered w/ creme fraiche, draped w/ a small swatch of Scottish smoked salmon, all of which was topped with a blob of the caviar from the bottom of the jar. The caviar then was more a condiment than a dish, but greatly enhanced the flavor of the salmon and helped generate a delicious bite.
