My first winter in the house, 3 years ago, saw me up a ladder at 3am removing a huge clog of leaves from the gutter outside the bedroom. I mean the sound of falling water is soothing and all, but not when it's a stream that sounds like an elephant relieving itself on a tennis court!After a ton of research, I decided to give GutterStuff a go. I went for the "Pro" version due to the claim of longer life (I don't like to have to redo things) and calced out the required length I'd need.It took one afternoon to get it all installed. It loses a star because It's not really clear which way around to orient the "angle" in the gutter and even once I'd figured out the best way, sections still tend to drop in deeper than they need to. There's a little work left here for them to figure out a better fitment mechanism, but that's my only gripe.The first winter was pretty mild (it's Northern California, after all :) ) and it didn't miss a beat. My nights were void of elephants!This summer I decided to get back on the roof and see how the gutters looked. There were almost no leaves (per the claim, leaves dry up and blow off the top, having no where to collect in any meaningful layers) but the Sycamore seeds (little feathery things) are quite small and tend not to move around once they find a good place. The holes in the foam itself provided enough purchase for the little buggers to hang around. That said, the pores were not completely clogged and I'm sure that, even with the seeds in place, water would still be able to get through at a good rate.Being anal, however, I dragged my ShopVac onto the roof and spent an hour or so clearing off the worst of the seeds from the valleys in the roofline and sucking the worst of the top layer off the GutterPro foam. That was several months ago, so I'm sure that Fall provided plenty more crud to drop on top of the then clean pores.Well, this weekend was the true test. A series of Pacific Storms swept the Bay Area and drenched Silicon Valley. My gutters didn't even flutter. Several neighbours were having overflowing problems, the streets were pooled and my garden could not absorb another drop, but the water disappeared off my roof without a hint of overflowing.Highly recommend! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Updated review! (There are knockoff brands that are not actually GutterStuff. Who knows how they would honor a warranty.) The product I purchased over 5 years ago, GutterStuff Pro, with a 15 year warranty, did fail, but the company has honored the warranty with replacement. But note! The company owner indicated they are now making the foam with a different, better quality foam, which should last longer. As I received excellent customer service, I am rating this 5 stars, as I sincerely believe the newer product will be better. Do check out the GutterStuff website (gutterstuff.com), as they have even higher quality products and longer warranties, and they can customize to precisely what you need.(Original review, not modified:). I ordered the GutterStuff Pro from Amazon (A different company than Amazon was providing it), but was sent the ordinary GuttersStuff, which has a lower quality and shorter warranty. I returned the first order and was sent another, yet the box once again indicated it was only the ordinary GutterStuff, so I returned that as well. I believe Amazon removed that provider as a result. When I spoke to Amazon customer service by phone, I received excellent, prompt attention both times. That keeps me as a happy, returning Amazon customer.In any event, the GutterStuff Pro looks like it will hold up well and I am optimistic that it will do the job it is supposed to do. I probably won't be able to really evaluate its performance for another two or three years. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps Debris Out w/o Blocking Water *by B***V on Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2017* Thought I'd write this review after having these for 3 years. As I write this it is 2017 and CA has not had this wet a winter in 10-15 years. Not once have my gutters overflowed. A small amount of debris will still collect in-between the inserts and the gutter sidewall as well as on top of the inserts. I actually had several weeds growing on top of the insert. So yes- once a year I still have get up a ladder and clean out my gutters but it is so much easier now- just take out the insert, shake it off and place back in. The debris that makes it into the gutter is maybe 1-2 handfuls worth. I can do my whole house in about 15 minutes.
