After drinking PG Tips everyday for over 30 years I was not only disappointed in the tea I received but also depressed that the product I knew and loved had been changed and is no longer available. Instead the new tea bags are now flat and you now have two tea bags attached to each other that you have to separate. I drink the tea iced in the summer and hot in the colder months. I made tea immediately and used my usual RO water, usual temperature, timed brew, and usual glass carafe for the iced version. The brew color is lighter and has a different nose and not pleasant. The flavor is not as full and I found a bitterness that was not there before. Also a little unpleasant aftertaste. . A little searching revealed that the company had been sold to a corporation and those in the UK are outraged that their number one tea has been changed. !

Married to a British man living in America he feels right at home since I bought him these. They taste just like they’re doing in England and they are the best value for money by a mile. 90% of the time we use them for a cup of English tea, but occasionally I make iced tea using these and it taste so so good.

I don't know what I was doing with my life before this purchase. Buying tea like a normal, limited person? Embarrassing. Those days are over. PG Tips is already the gold standard. Smooth, bold, proper British tea that actually tastes like tea and not sad leaf water. But the real event here is the quantity. 1,100 bags. At this point it's less of a purchase and more of a lifestyle commitment. A philosophy. You are not buying tea, you are securing your future. Guests come over? Tea. Stressful day? Tea. Just woke up? Tea. 3am existential crisis? Guess what. TEA. You will never open the cabinet and find yourself without options. The cupboard is sorted. Life is sorted. And the price per bag? Practically free. Each cup costs you nothing. You are essentially being paid to drink tea at this point. Five stars. My kettle has never been prouder.

PG Tips are my favorite tea bags—strong and smooth. However, these came as square bags instead of the usual pyramid shape. They don’t seem quite as strong or flavorful as the pyramid bags. A little disappointing, but I decided to keep them.

These tea bags in the 1100 bag feel smaller and the tea is weaker than the regular 240 bag box. I tried to see if the customer is made aware of this in the description, but I can't see that we easily are. The only way the user would know is if they divided 2.2 kg by 1100 to get 2g per tea bag then went back to the 240 bag box to see the weight as 1.53 lbs or .693996 kg, divided by 240 and saw that the regular bag is approximately 2.9g. It is clear the bags are indeed smaller by about 1/3 or 31%. So everyone who thought the tea was weaker was right. It is. It is just a complete disappointment and gives me an overall bad feeling about the brand. Perhaps this lot is meant for other markets where they like weaker tea, but with the no return policy, it feels like a scam.

I'm writing this review several months after my purchase. Shame on me after 20 years of drinking this tea that I didn't read the fine print. It says decaffeinated. I did not relize PG made decaffeinated tea. The listing say decaf but the packaging doesn't so I have no idea what in the world I got. The "pyramid" were smooshed and had only a little tea in them. Took extra bags to brew my normal strength pot of tea. Now today after received a new order (from a different Amazon store) I received flat tea bags even though the listing said "original pyramid". What is going on? These discrepanies is what made me write this review. My new purchase today 4/25/24 is suppose to be black tea, the listing at the very bottom of the comparision chart says it's English Breakfast. If my first or second cup of PG tea years ago tasted like my previous purchase I would never have brought PG tea home from England with me. Back 20 years ago (& b4 Amazon) PG tea was difficult to find in the local grocery stores. I had fallen in love with it on my first visit to England. 2nd trip back I packed extra ziplock bags to pack as much tea in my suitcase as I could to bring home. Even today not many carry PG, if they do it's in small boxes. Maybe time to find a better tea.
