Q: Is the on lite supposed to blink when auto shut off is activated. In other words when iron is off is the lite suppose to keep blinking.

No, mine only blinks while it is heating up until it gets to the desired temp. I turned mine on and waited for it to shut off automatically so I could check to see if it blinks until it is cooled down, and it doesn't.

Q: Is the sole plate Ceramic? I don’t understand what material duration is?

I'm not entirely sure if it's a combination of ceramic and some other material but it's fantastic and you will love it. It is the single best iron I have owned.
