The adapter works great for me & I completely love it. It allows me to mount Canon EF lenses to my Sony Nex-5 camera, which is exactly what I wanted it for. The build quality of the adapter is better than I expected and should hold up pretty well. It also looks great on the camera. That being said, there are some things to consider with this adapter: - The adapter has no means of using the camera's auto-focusing, so everything must be focused manually, which may or may not be an issue for you. Also, since the Nex cannot actually detect the lens that is attached, it won't automatically zoom in for focusing, you must manually push the MF assist button; MF assist will zoom in on the LCD to show fine focus details, then you must either push the exit button or take the photo while still zoomed in. If you are shooting handheld, this is a little hard to do without physically moving the camera out of focus again while pushing buttons. Focusing without using the MF assist zoom while shooting handheld works for me too. It just depends on what you are shooting, how precise of focus you need, depth of field, etc. However, on a tripod, or other stable surface, it works out perfectly for me. - There is also no means to change the aperature with just the adapter and the Nex camera. This could be a drawback, depending on what types of photos you'll be shooting. I will almost always be using this lens for its 1.8 aperature, so it works for my needs. - While there are things this adapter cannot do, please keep in mind the price. The adapter from Sony (LAEA1) Sony Alpha LAEA1 Mount Adaptor (Black) that attaches Sony A-mount alpha lenses (with auto-focus, aperature, etc.) costs $159.95 on amazon as of today. So, for the $33 or so that I paid, I am extremely happy. So, my advice is this: if you already own or have access to some nice Canon EF lenses and don't mind using manual focus, don't wait. Buy this adapter now. If you are getting this adapter and expecting to buy a lens or lenses to go with it, consider the drawbacks and determine if it meets your needs & skill level. If you don't want to use manual focus or you need to easily use aperatures other than wide open, this adapter is not for you. I'm posting some photos of the adapter and Canon lens attached to the Nex. I'm not an expert photographer by any means, but I'm also posting a quick shot of a carebear just to give you an example that was shot using the Nex, this adapter, and this great Canon EF lens: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens (Which, by the way, I highly recommend the lens, especially for the price) Finally, some tips if you do buy the adapter: 1. You must enable the camera to take pictures even though it doesn't know anything about the lens attached. Do this by going into the menu > setup > release w/o lens > enable. You only have to do this once and can leave the setting on, even with your regular Nex lenses. 2. Use the red line above the "EOS-NEX" wording on the adapter to line up with the lens, just as if you were mounting it to a camera. 3. Test how the release lever works before attaching lenses, just to make your life easier & so you know how it works. It physically pushes down, toward the camera (as if it were mounted).

After spending some time looking for a low cost alternative to the Metabones Adapter or Speedbooster. I wanted to connect some Rokinon lenses to the Sony FS700. The lens that I was using previous was the Sony E 3.5-6.3/pz 18-200 OSS. There isn’t any issue with that lens, however I wanted to shoot some shots at a wider aperture, larger than 3.5. I was able to achieve the shallow dof in some cases, but I knew there were shots that I would have loved to have shot on the wide end of my Rokinon’s 1.5T. I am also aware of the three means of controlling DOF; Focal Length, Distance to Subject and APERTURE. Most shooting situations indoors gave my distance to subject option problems. The idea of shooting subjects is to pull them off the wall and create depth to the shot. This Fotasy NAEF Pro Canon EOS EF Lens to Sony NEX fits tight, zero play, snap click to let you know its fitting without any issue. My order arrived in two days via Prime. I received a text on my phone that the package had been delivered and didn’t rush home as I was out shooting. I took my time getting home later that night expecting this adapter to have some issue. I was blown away at how tightly fitting this was along with the feeling of a solid build. I've heard a few comments regarding play, maybe it was a defective adapter, I don't have any such issue. It feels like it will last. I didn’t expect a 20 something dollar product to actually help me out, providing me with the quick choice of sticking a prime on and opening up. This works wonderfully. My thought on its ability to surprise me for the price, all I could asks aloud was, "Are You Serious." I'm slowly regaining my trust in products.

I bought this adapter to use with my Sony Nex-5T. It works wonderfully for what I want it for. As many other reviewers have noted, this adapter does not allow for any control of the lens by the camera. You have to use Manual focus on the lens and cannot adjust the aperture. Read the directions included with the adapter in the box to attach and configure your camera for use. I originally bought the new Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens to use with this adapter and my Sony Nex 5, but it did not work because the new STM lens does not have a truly manual focus. It still needs power to focus and since this adapter is not powered it will not work. I returned the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM and purchased the previous version Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens. This adapter and the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens work wonderfully together. This lens is able to manually focus without power therefore it works with this basic adapter. I'm so excited to be able to use this great lens with my sony camera. Just keep in mind that this adapter is meant for manual focus and cannot change aperture. For the price it is great and I mainly intend to shoot wide open and enjoy manual focus. I included some images for examples.

I actually had high hope after I used the C/Y to E adapter from Fotasy. But this one basically ruined the hope 100%. It actually does NOT fit. The body side works fine, but the lens side is horrible. My 24-70 won't lock and I thought I was going to break the mount. What a disappointment!

Works fine to mount my Canon EOS lenses to my E-mount Sony A6000 camera. The mount is not as tight as I would like, but I haven't had any trouble. I've only used my 50mm though, so nothing very heavy. Of course all electronic connections are lost, but I don't think they're compatible anyway. To set the lens the aperture, you need to do it while the lens is on your Canon camera, keep the power on and hold down the DOF preview while removing the lens. At least that's what I have to do on my Rebel. Focus will be manual but shutter speed and IOS can be controlled by the Sony. All in all, it's nice to be able to use the lenses I already have.

I bought this as a temporary solution while testing other manufactures adapters. It's not bad. if your using dumb mount lenses it will work but there are a few caveats that any purchaser should be aware of. Pros Cheap Does it job, with a little work. Cons It flares like a son of a gun. I mean it flares a lot. Good or bad depending on situation. Any hard source of light, afternoon sun for instance, entering the lens creates unpleasant anomalies. The release button is miserable. Felt like I was going to break it before adding a little TLC. I took some micro sanding tools and strategically sanded down areas that were causing to much friction. Which was causing the need for a ridiculous amount of force to puts lens on and off. Then I added some WD 40 to a cotton q-tip and care fully snooze some of the compound in the area were the pin moves. This solved the problem and made it smooth as butter. Keep the WD 40 handy. When I first got this adapter I was about to return it immediately. It was nearly impossible to attach any lens to it. Or attach the adapter to the body. The finish on the aluminum ring was not allowing an effortless contact to the lens or body. Which it should. It should receive the lens as well as your camera body. So, I applied a very small amount of WD 40 on the rings and made a few passes on it. Let it sit over night and removed any potential residue that could rub off my lens or camera. Did the trick and it worked perfectly. Focusing to infinity, be careful with this. You must have a lens that you know is perfectly collimated and is wide angle. I had varying results, so I can't fully accept that it is perfect, YMMV. Other than that it has worked. It may sound like an overly negative review but I made it work with 10 minutes of work and it served its function. It got three stars, cause it is cheap, and that a gigantic boon for it.

If you are looking for an adapter for Canon EF lens to Sony E body this is a great choice. There will be no autofocus as the is a "Dumb" adapter with no circuitry. But honestly, if you are buying this you can hand focus with little issue. I am using this on a Sony a6500 adapting a Sigma 28-300 EF mount. The lens is snug in the adapter and the adapter fits perfectly in the camera body. Worth at least twice what you pay!

Just bought a Sony nex camera, and it didn't come with a lens. As a canon shooter my entire life, I have a large amount of EF lenses! So while I have an e mount lens being shipped, this was great to use in the mean time! (Works best for wide lens and lenses with manual focus rings!, been using my 10-18 lens and at widest length it works great!) (NOTE, when using this product be sure to use EF lenses that have a dedicated popped out focuse ring, and ones that are smoth sliding / electronic focuse rings do not work!) All in all, would definitely recommend!

Item came on time, works perfectly but does not support auto focus which is okay because its in description.

Nice adaptor for such price. Can't expect it to catch with the auto focus system of Sony. But in manual mode gets the work done
