Great Remote! Works across several devices!!!!
I was hesitant to buy this because of so many options on the market. But I'm really glad I got this one! Packaging: Minimalistic but well packaged. - It came with a small owners manual with a QR code to download the ZAZa app. - Comes with the IR remote - Includes nice Silicone sleeve (for storage and cannot be used while device is being used) - Includes small key ring for the silicone sleeve Product: I found out very nice. Made out of aluminium and feels sturdy. The end has a little IR blaster and LED indicator to let you know when it's functioning. APP/compatibility: I found setup quite quick. Downloaded the Zaza app and just plugged it in. Pairing was quite easy with my old Sharp 42inch tv from the mid 2000s. I was apprehensive as the old galaxy s4 (built in IR blaster) that I was using as a remote didn't work very well with the tv. I had to download several apps and try different modes to get it to work with the tv. This APP worked great with the TV. 100% compatibility. Better than other apps I was using on the S4 (which died last week). I then moved downstairs to try on my parents brand new Samsung Q65 TV. Setup worked alright. That T.V. Has audio commands via the remote that obviously weren't compatible with the Zaza app. But that's okay. I wasn't expecting it to. Also tried our media rooms Toshiba TV with Amazon fire built in. That one worked great! Only thing is the back button didn't work. So I'd give it 98% compatibility. Along with the Toshiba TV we have a Bose lifestyle system from the early/mid2000s that also paired up fairly well. App concerns: because of some reviews I read calling out the app for questionable things. I removed permissions from the app. As well as made it so the app cannot run in the background. I have used this on both my galaxy S8 and Google pixel 2. Both work great with it. Highly recommend!!!

GREAT! (SO FAR SO GOOD)
Well, its small and slim..fits on my Note9 without taking off the case. The screen rotates so when you point to send a signal to something like your tv you dont see the "remote" buttons upside down. There is a setting for that or it asks you automatically (i had my display set to no rotate, always portrait mode...and the app asked if i wanted to rotate). I am 4 meters from my stereo and it works fine. The best part about this is that you can aim the original remote to the adapter and it will read the infrared code and store it for you. Its called "DIY do it yourself".. for when you cant find the complete remote from their data bank. Anyway the DIY is simple but changing the layout and defining buttons is a bit crazy. After you do a few of them you see how it works but it is confusing at first...a bit of a headache.. you just have to keep trying and pressing options etc. until you figure it out. I think the fastest way is that if you cant find your remote right away from the data base then pick a projector for example..anyone, then keep pressing that there is no response (the ON button in the app does not turn on your projector), do that 2 or 3 times and it will automatically ask if you want to DIY. Then you just add your own buttons and read everything from the original remote. I have my projector, air conditioning, home theater, cable tv box all programmed into my phone. btw, you have to download the "zaza remote" app. Its not in the google play store. just google "zaza remote apk", find the apk/program and install it in your phone.. you might have to allow "install from unknow source" or something like that since its not from the google store. I got mine from apkpure. I works just as described!!

Works pretty good. Couldn't get one brand to power on and off but everything else worked for thst device. All other devices successfull including power

Hardware seems to work, app is terrible.
The app is difficult and time-consuming to use; makes the product somewhat useless in situations that need it most - involving control of a TV new to it.

Great adapter!
Works great!

works. but not on all phones... on PC perfectly (you will need to google an app)
yeah so its not recognized on my 1 phone, but is on the other., but that phone is rooted with a special kernel. im not mad (personally) I have a work around that ended up working better (on a pc, and using a wifi connection as a repeater.) But directly? no. (not all phones)

Works with Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus (s8+) but...
This device works in my Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus (s8+) but the ZaZaRemote software is not currently found on Google Play. I had to get a copy from an APK mirror site. That concerns me as Google might have removed it from the Playstore as it was one of the apps that had components or libraries that were malicious. I removed 1 star from my rating for this. Update: The app appears on the Play store again, but I am leaving my star removal because it was not there when I got my device and there don't seem to be other apps that support it. Either way, it works for my TVs (not my portable AC unit, which is kinda expected, AC units have different frequencies and generally send the entire settings at once) The ZaZa app works decent enough, hidden away under "me" then the "gear", there is a reverse portrait mode that works well with it so the screen is not upside down when facing the ir end at the TV. It fits nicely with my case on it and the silicon keychain holder for it seems pretty secure... it tightens as pulled if pulled fast like a Chinese finger trap. I have not found any other apps that work with this so far and I have tried a lot. If anyone finds other apps that function with it, please reply to this review about it. This transmits only, it does not have a receiver like some bigger models found here. This means it cannot learn if it's not in the database. I removed another star from my review because the ir database lacks a lot of remote commands that other and open db apps have (hitting hdmi mode, etc). I can change inputs on my devices, but I have to go through menus. The app has a nice find your matching device wizard, but I hate that it forces power as the first button instead of volume or mute. Some TV's take forever to power up, while others power up quickly... all mute or volume control fast though. The app is not intuitive for realizing you don't have to use the Wizard, but you don't have to use the wizard if you don't want. It has a db of official and user contributed remotes (from those that have the other bigger models from other listings) I really like this dongle. It is a convenient size and adds a feature I miss from my older phones. IR Blasters should still be in mobile devices... a lot of people who travel depend on the or something like it. The LED does glow red to the naked eye when using, so it's not completely discreet if using it. I'm sorry for the low quality image, I used my webcam to take the picture since my phone was the model.

I control 3 TVs with this thing– Amazing!!
I still don't know how this happened, but it happened. We have 3 TVs from which 2 remote controls got lost and one stopped working. We have Fire Sticks that came with controls and the ability to control volume of said TVs, but those took a beating and are gone..( I have 3 boys that are under the age of 6 and are a handful — remotes did not Stand a chance lol ) I had no luck with universal controls so I decided to look for a IR device that would connect to my phone and make my life so much easier and I found it with this product. EASY to use and a very well made Product. I 100% recommend.. don't over think it just buy it. I now control my 3 TVs with one device that connects to my phone!! How crazy is that!.

Great for basic functions
Works great sometimes hard to find remotes but good quality. Popular brands easier to find so for cheap hotels sometimes it'll take a few minutes to get the channel If ur buying this to replace your remotes dont not all functions will work for example "ok" button and the surrounding buttons to navigate. The only buttons that have worked great have been on/off, volume up/down, mute/unmute, and some other basic functionalities which arent the products faulty but rather the app devs faulty for not telling you that some remotes have similar ir signals for on/off and other common buttons. For example you might find a remote test on/off first see it works and move on but that remote you found only has the same ir signal as the on/off button, so in regards to that its not exactly easy to find your remotes exact match. I recommend putting it on a spare chain or necklace because the ring it comes with is super tough to get its silicone case on. If your buying this to troll/cause havoc be careful as you could be suspended from school, kicked from a store, or even banned from coming back to wherever you were doing it. !DISCLAIMER! these cannot turn off billboards only ir signal base devices!
