I was dissappointed in this hardcover edition. Quality was medium to low. I was also unwieldy. Expertly crafted to perform equally well as either stand alone works or as vital parts of a larger narrative, readers should expect to be wowed by both Lewis' lucid insights and creative writing. I strongly recommend this trilogy to anyone who has already wet their Lewis appetite and are now ready to jump into the deep end!

Content is spectacular. Binding is mediocre at best
I read the space trilogy decades ago. On re-reading, I could only vaguely remember Perelandra (second book). The others were as if I had never read them. Very enjoyable. I was dissappointed in this hardcover edition. Quality was medium to low. I was also unwieldy. I wish I had purchased separate hardbacks, or even paperbacks instead of this edition

Easily the most over looked work of CS Lewis
If you're familiar with, have dabbled in or have merely heard about Lewis, this trilogy is a most worthwhile read. Overshadowed by his considerable non fiction output as well as Narnian Chronicles, The Ransome trilogy masterfully presents Lewis' keen understanding of human will and inclination in a brilliantly told and thoroughly engrossing thriller series. Expertly crafted to perform equally well as either stand alone works or as vital parts of a larger narrative, readers should expect to be wowed by both Lewis' lucid insights and creative writing. I strongly recommend this trilogy to anyone who has already wet their Lewis appetite and are now ready to jump into the deep end!

Currently reading it. Excellent so far. J.R.R. Tolkien wrote the Forward and he can't speak highly enough about it.

A must-have classic by a timeless author
Rich and amazingly colorfully detailed in every way. A contemporary of Tolkien; and every bit as enjoyable as Tolkien’s works. A must read.

I love this trilogy. It is creative and thought-provoking. Typical of C.S. Lewis' works, it is a difficult read, but work the effort.

Favorite C.S. Lewis book.
Everyone who enjoys C.S. Lewis should read this trilogy. It's fiction, and has so many interesting little theological points, but it's also one of the best written science fiction books. I can't recommend this book enough. I do wish they came as three different books so they'd be easier to hold, and my grandchildren wouldn't find the size as intimidating as the three together are, but, honestly, this book should be read by Lewis fans, science fiction fans, and those who'd like a different view of life.

fascinating speculation
This is Lewis at his best as a fantasy writer, with fascinating speculation about mankind and the fall from grace. I really the three-in-one volume of the Space Trilogy.

Stunning
It’s a hefty read, but so worth it! The way you see the world will change after reading this series. It’s not meant for the faint of heart, but for those who desire to have heart.

A space adventure encompassing three worlds with a Christian worldview
Great writing from a master of the English language. This is not a mere space opera nor a sci-fi novel ( though a real page turner): this work goes beyond those genres. In three volumes, the author lays out a quest for truth, good and ultimately God as the main character faces formidable enemies bent on destroying Earth and humanity and two other worlds. Shockingly, the third volume describes a luciferian elite ruling Earth not unlike modern-day plutocrats. Unlike most modern literature there's a Christian message for those able to read between the lines, just like in Lord of the Rings.

Lewis is a treasure
The Trilogy by C.S. Lewis is an allegory about our present time. Out of the Silent Planet goes far in showing how an open heart can create understanding between very disparate creatures. Perelandra can be understood as Heaven written in words. That Hideous Strength describes the war between Good and Evil. Guess who wins?
