A reliable, high-quality workhorse zoom that excels in fast, unpredictable shooting.
I used these lenses to replace the older original 24-70 2.8. I was waffling on whether to switch to the new RF mounts, but decided to stick with these and continue using the RF/EF adapter for my R5 cameras. I'm glad I did. Although with the adapter they're slightly longer than the native RF would have been, the weight is similar and they're smooth with truly excellent image quality and versatility. It's an excellent must-have lens for unpredictable shooting situations like weddings, or portraits with kids that are going a mile a minute. The old 24-70 had a reverse barrel where zooming in would shorten the barrel and zooming out would lengthen it. This current model reverses that so the lens gets longer when you zoom in and shorter when you zoom out. It doesn't matter operationally, but it's just more satisfying. The locking mechanism is also very much appreciated. This lens isn't going to blow your mind if you've already got a similar unit in your bag, but if you're new to this, this is a workhorse lens that absolutely justifies itself.

Excellent lens
Excellent lens, but most of us have a budget, so refurbished equipment for our photography hobby lets us still afford food for the next week. Lens arrived in good packaging and in excellent condition. It's difficult to even tell that it was used, so I thank the prior owner for taking care of their equipment. Everything on the lens is functional and I'm quite impressed with the clarity and results of my initial test shoots. My only issue is with Canon and not the seller... Now I have to get a set of 82mm filters so I have ND and CPL capability for this lens. Of all my Canon gear, this is the first one in 82mm filter size. I guess it's off to Maven to start shopping for 82mm magnetic rings and filters.

Awesome lens
This lens is so good. Great value and image stabilizer. I use canon for a long time and it is always good to get a new lens. This is very versatile and useful, sharp and great images.

Worth the purchase
Received my lens a few weeks ago and so far, no complaints, it came packaged well and works great with being refurbished. My images turn out sharp.

Great lens, bad company to buy from.
This review is not really about the lens. It's more about the company selling it. I paid over $1300 for this lens and it arrived with a small crack in the glass on the front side of the lens and had what looked like lint inside the lens. I packed it right back up and sent it back and got a refund. I bought the same lens from another company and I really love the lens so far.

Took a leap of faith and it paid off
I decided to buy this Lens "renewed" and I was a bit worried since I had never bought stuff in this condition before, but for ~300$ difference between this one and a new one, I felt like it was worth the shot. Took my chances with it and I'm extremely glad to say the lens came in perfect condition and couldn't tell it was renewed rather than just new. Everything works and looks excellent with this lens so I have no complains when it comes to the state of the lens. Now, for PHOTOGRAPHERS/VIDEOGRAPHERS, this lens is very versatile and has a very standard look to the images it creates. My only issue with this lens is that it isn't as sharp as I would like it to be (then again, it's no Prime Lens) and it has no Image Stabilization, which might make it hard to use for video unless you're using a tripod or a gimbal. I bought the lens knowing these things, but hopefully this info is useful to those who might not know this.
