This thing is NICE! It greatly speeds up set up time. Calibration took about five minutes and now leveling all of the cutters takes no time. I wish I'd have thought of this idea. Buy it. The fit and finish is excellent.

I recently went on a buying spree for indexable carbide tooling and tool holders for my lathe and figured for the price I’d give this tool a try. After spending a minute setting the level on the tool it made quick work of setting the tool height for seven new tools. When done, I checked each tool by doing a facing cut and it all but one was spot on and the other one left a very thin needle sticking out that only required the slightest adjustment to make perfect. I use several ways to set the tool height but this is quick and easy to use. This is the third tool I bought from Edge technology and all of them worked perfectly and exceeded my expectations.

This is a nicely made and handy tool. It keeps me from having to loosen the QCTP and spin it around to the tail stock center to set tool height.

The best thing I've bought for my lathe, makes setting the tools up easy no more little nibs. Plus I learned which tool holders where the better ones. Saves time especially if like me you a beginner with a lathe your learning.

Once you find center on your work with a turning tool, you can then calibrate the Edge tool bubble to center. Seems to work good if you constantly changing tools (boring bars, parting tools, etc.). Once you have your tool holder set up, it really saves alot of time.

The time I save setting tool bit height is incredible to other gauges I tried. Well worth the money.

Changing tools or setting up tool holders used to take several minutes or longer. From placing it in the chuck to dialing in the height of the holder? 70ish seconds and going; Less if you already have your machine properly leveled.

I like that it’s adjustable for out of level machines. It’s a little fidgety to calibrate,but that’s a one time deal if you’re only using it on one machine…or maybe you’re one of those weird people that actually have level machines?lol Once it’s calibrated it works great. It’s maybe a bit of an unnecessary gadget to some and it’s fairly pricy but I used it once on a boring bar that I was fighting with a bit and it worked first try so it’s got a spot in my shop.
