Advanced & Flexible
I have had an excellent experience with this headset so far. It's not your average plug-and-play device, it caters to someone a bit more savvy with more advanced needs but rewards you with advanced flexibility like hot swapping a battery without losing the call. That is a very cool functionality. First impressions are a bit overwhelming. There's a lot of stuff in the box and the manual is online only. I really like that - the last thing I need is more paper, just let me lookup the manual online. Points for that. Plugging the USB into my Windows10 computer it was detected and added correctly as an audio device first try. No reboot needed, so that couldn't have been easier. And they included a USB cable, which is not always the case. Nice! I didn't do any advanced connecting with a deskphone or lifter but this headset is ready for that if you need that flexibility. Like I said, this is an advanced headset, that can also just be used for more simple needs. The hardest part was manually attaching the earpiece to the headset. It takes a bit of force to snap into place and I was afraid I might break it. But all good - the build is secure and solid. It also comes with the option of a headset or ear coil so that's a nice touch. Choose which you like. The headset is very comfortable, as the device is super light. I hardly noticed I was wearing it for hours, which is a plus. Sound quality is absolutely finefor calls and meetings. Obviously it's not meant for music or video playback - it works, but that's just not what it's meant for. Voices are clear and the people on the other end could hear me loud and clear. Overall an excellent headset with advanced functionality for the more picky user.

Great Headset
I was sent this headset to provide a review. I am a solutions engineer for a UCaaS provider and I appreciate Discover sending this to me to test prior to recommending it to customers. The headset is light and comfortable. I have a bulky, 2 ear book headset, and never use it because it's too heavy. The Discover headset was barely noticeable. The sound quality was great. I only used it for some online meeting and a few soft phone calls, but all were crystal clear. I did not have a hook switch cable to connect it to my Polycom desk phone, but I have no doubt the quality would be the same. Lastly, the range of DECT is awesome. With my regular Bluetooth earbuds, I lose signal if I stray too far from my home office. The Discover headset allowed me to roam my entire house without loss of audio. The Discover D904 headset is a great choice for a high quality, wireless audio experience, and I will be recommending these to my customers.

Easy set up, multi use, small form factor
I've had experience with single device, multi device and dual device headset/base combos - this fits nicely in that dual-device category. It does not have bluetooth connectivity, but that is clear from the item description - and quite frankly, the wired connection gives much more confidence. I found set up really simple - included card in packaging and direction to website to get more info easy to follow. I dont have a headset lifter, but I've had them in the past and know that can sometimes be finicky, and would assume similar here. Immediately connected to my computer USB hub (working from home) and my voip handset. Didn't have to adjust anything. The switching button doesn't have a fully satisfying "click" but thats my personal nitpicking. I use the over the ear set up, and per the picture attached, I am 5'8" average build male and you can see the boom for the mic comes perfectly to the edge of my mouth. Did some test calls with my wife and then some work colleagues - no one could tell any degrading quality on either MS Teams or via the voip connection. Teams - did not find that the mute functions on the headset interacted with Teams mute icons, as some headsets do. But that's OK. Battery- I *LOVE* that there is an included hot-swap battery pack that charges right there - even has a satisfying "lock" into the base while charging. Indicator lights for charging capacity right on the base unit... very helpful. The only issue there is that I'm working in my bedroom, so at night, had to cover the base, but that's a WFH issue. Battery life - found that I could go about 2/3 of the day on one battery - this was not constant calls, but mainly left the headset on my head, not in the cradle, and that was about 4 Teams meetings and various phone calls between 5-20 minutes throughout... I'd assume if you were on constant virtual meetings/calls , you would get about 1/2 day on the battery. Form factor - i took a picture of the headset with the over head attachment charging - it solidly "clicks" into the holder and therefore doesn't tip the base at all... the base is very light , which is nice , and its small, so doesn't take up a lot of room. Overall, solid dual-device wired base (wireless headset, of course) - easy set up, thoughtful design (battery swapping), simple design.

Poor call quality, uncomfortable, and not very well made
I was looking forward to testing this headset; I use a Jabra 9400 Pro that is almost 5 years old and I’ve had to replace the battery in it once and am coming up on that again. I though a new headset would sound better, be more comfortable, and I liked the swappable battery feature. I was disappointed in all three areas. First, call quality. With A/B tests, all callers felt that my Jabra sounded much better. They are similar designs in that the boom microphones are roughly the same length and I am using over-the-ear loops. The calls sounded about the same to me, after adjusting the D904 to my tastes. But callers consistently commented on the call quality. Using the ear-hook, again the Jabra wins hands down. The ear hooks are a thicker plastic that spreads the weight better and are easier to pick up and put on your ear. I constantly had to fiddle with the D904 ear hook, and it got uncomfortable after a few hours. There are three size hooks, but they are all very thin and flimsy. The headband was too tight for my taste, but that might be personal taste. Switching the battery out is a great idea, except the fit and finish for this headset is not great. The battery never locks into the earpiece with a satisfying click, and I found that without careful positioning my phone would drop out. Along those lines, the headset is a looser than expected fit into the base station. The manual is very skimpy and is a download – you would think that a product at this price point would include a small manual or at least a “quick setup” sheet as there are some items requiring explanation, such as the wiring switch (used for wiring compatibility) and aux port (for a headset lifter). On the plus side, I liked the volume control on the headset — my Jabra has a touch strip that I have never mastered. Then again, I am never far from my phone when making a call, and it is rare that volume needs adjusting after initiating a call. Also, the range is great – I tested it to 250 feet without issue. Still, with the comfort, call quality, and fit-and-finish issues, this product is hard to recommend. There are better headsets out there at this price point.

Great Sound Quality
This product arrived and was easy to set up. The instructions were available through QR code download. The sound quality is excellent, and there are many options for wearing the headset. All the accessory are included and they also provided a second battery. It is easy to switch between the computer and phone with a push of the button. The product is durable and the stand is weighted so that it doesn't move around easily on the desk. The sound quality is excellent and there is no echo.

No Quality Control Whatsoever
Update: 1/3/2021 I was able to do some work on the web to get the instruction manual and then attempt to use this device. I tried just listening using a music app on my Mac, and then I tried to use it on a conference call which was on my phone via the Mac (FaceTime Audio). The net result is, that alhough the Discover showed up on the audio output list as a "Dect Headset" I was unable to use it as a headset during calls. It would work with the music app as a listen only device. That is weird. It is the opposite of what I would have expected in that I would have thought FaceTime Audio would work fine and the music app would fail to connect. I played around with a few other ways to get the headset to work on my computer. I did get it to work with Microsoft Teams for a web meeting. It does have the odd behavior of switching to try to connect to a phone instead of the computer thus requiring I monitor the status light on the base to make sure the correct mode is engaged at the start of each call. That is, it doesn't stay where I set it and tends to default to the phone line whether there is one or not. For whatever reason, Teams sounded better than the Music app in that the sound was more clear and had crisper highs instead of being muted. It sounds like a traditional land line for voice. That is to say, not as good as my VOIP services with a higher fidelity headset, but pretty good. It still does not sound like over $200 of gear, though. Now that I have the device operating, I was able to check out functions like the volume and muting control on the headset. It works, but is a sub-optimal design. The volume control works OK, but if it is worn on the left ear, the volume direction is opposite of the intuitive direction. It's fine if it's on the right ear. A bigger issue is that there is a Mute function on the volume control that has no visual indicator of function. That is, there is no light on the base or the earpiece that says if mute is on or off. You only know because you're talking and nobody can hear you. I suggest not using mute on the earpiece and muting the app or phone directly so you have a visual indicator. By the way, it would be great if the embedded firmware for the device could do a verbal status or that says mute is engaged or not when the button gets pressed. The lack of indication makes mute pretty hard to use smoothly. The function that does exist is a beep sound approximately every 8 seconds when mute is on. So, there is an indicator, but really, a lot can happen on a call in 8 seconds. I was able to check the range. The maker claims about 300 feet, but that is in open space. I pretty much work indoors in my one story wood frame home of about 2400sf. I was able to still use the headset at the other end of the house (about 60' and three rooms and five walls away). Sound quality was OK until I reached the far end of the house. I started to get a little digital chop at the other end of the house, but it was still usable. This is one area where this headset excels - the range is much, much better than any of my bluetooth devices; over twice the range in practical use. So, based on my update, I can raise this device to two stars. I cannot go higher than that because of the reasons in my original review. I'd also like to point out that this unit feels like it was intended for an older infrastructure environment which predates a lot of the more modern tools and applications. The documentation refers to Windows 7 and older revs of Mac OS X. It all feels so five years ago. Still workable, but not full featured for the price. The new summary: it works, but not a good value in my opinion. I am still upset about the condition in which it was shipped and received. If I had paid list price for this, I would have sent it back without trying it. ***************************************************** Original Review: I received a copy of this device for "an honest review" as we say. With all the items I have received for review in the past it seems the manufacturer did their best to make sure that whatever they shipped was the best that they could do. Not only that, but it is common to receive a business card with contact information in case I need more help to get a good review done. This item was the first time I've received something that is the compete opposite of the normal reviewer experience. This is a fairly expensive headset at list price, so one would think that the outgoing QA would be solid. Instead, as the photos I uploaded show, there was a plain cardboard box with a bunch of seemingly random components it it.The cords were roughly wrapped around the various pieces, including what I think is the base station for the unit. Clearly, this is not a new item. In fact, I found an RMA slip in the box which did not have any information other than the RMA number. This strongly suggests that the company took a customer return and moved it right into the shipping line without opening the box. They slapped a piece of tape on it and re-shipped it. Wow! So, you say, why don't I just write or call them and get this fixed since everybody has a bad day, right? Not possible without some research because the box has no instructions and no contact information - at all. It does have an insert the size of a postcard saying that I can download the instructions from their website. Really? the postcard is blank on one side. They could have put contact information and perhaps a quick start instruction guide. Maybe they could have put a pictogram showing what was supposed to be inside the box. Nope. So, I don't know if I have all the pieces of this expensive system that was shipped used and in loose pieces in a brown cardboard box with no instructions, no inventory list and no contact information. After I get done being mad, I may go do some research and see if I can get this thing to work. In the meantime, I would not risk more than two hundred dollars on this company's product until they show that they have some attention to quality, user experience, and support. They are all missing in action so far. There are a lot of other choices for a headphone - I'd pick one of them, such as Plantronics or Jabra. This Discover company is not a contender. I do know that, and you should too.

Sound quality and comfort are good
I was actually surprised that I was able to use this over my behind the ear hearing aid and the sound was good without causing any feedback. It is very lightweight and comfortable to wear for extended periods. I was also pleased with the range. I was able to walk anywhere in my 4 bedroom house or out to the road in front of my house without any interuption in the signal. The only drawback that I have found is the limit of the volume but that may be more of a problem with my hearing than the headset.

Great headset with really good sound and comfortable to wear for hours at a time.
I've always been very picky about which headsets that I used and felt many were very badly designed. I was hesitant about this one when I first received it and thought it wouldn't be comfortable or well balanced. I was wrong in that assumption because it wears very well and sounds great. I prefer the over the ear rather than the over the head setup, but since this one has both you can decide which you prefer. Very good headset with good sound at a very good price. I like it!
