Quick delivery by Amazon and packaging was secure and not damaged. I installed the step in about 45 minutes. 20 minutes were devoted to removing a three-bolt bumper reinforcing bracket with hard to reach nut heads. The step is a great addition to the truck and is so handy, I think it should be standard equipment.Concerns:1. The instructions were definitely not written by someone who actually ever installed the product. If you have some mechanics skills, however, the installation is pretty straight-forward and it is not easy to make a mistake. The instructions say to use a torque wrench but fail to list the torque settings for three of the five different bolts. Ironically, the two with torque specs are steel on steel but the three bolts with no toque specs are heavy-duty hardened types which are screwed into aluminum castings. Mechanics with experience know to go easy on the torque in such situations, but a do-it-yourselfer may not.2. Not as sturdy as claimed- I read a lot of reviews for this step and large numbers of reviewers rave about how solidly built it is. I agree that the folding arm and its attachment to the truck frame are solid, however, the design of the plastic step and how it attaches to the arm is very weak. Only three small screws threaded into the plastic from below fix the step to the arm. Although the plastic step is designed with a choice of three different positions (left-, centered-, right of the arm), on my dual exhaust truck, placing the step pad to the left was the only choice which did not hit the exhaust tip. This left placement is perfect for stepping into the bed, but the cantilevered plastic step is clearly stressed especially if someone puts the max designed 300 lbs. on it. I anticipate it will someday tear itself away from the wimpy screws and I will have to through-bolt it as it should have been designed in the first place.3. Shame on the AMP designers for not fabricating a new bumper bracket to replace the one that had to be removed to make room for the bed step arm. My chrome bumper is now flimsier and less well supported. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars The step RAM forgot to make standard *by J***B on Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2021* OK, I love my new Ram. It has a lot of great features, but getting in and out of the rear bed was not one of them. So I took a leap of faith and got this AMP bed step. Installing the step is fairly straight-forward. Be prepared to scrape your knuckles a few times removing a factory corner brace (2 bolts are really hard to get out). But once that's out of the way, the bed step installs fairly quickly. My only suggestion is to mark the bolts better--hard to decipher which bolts you wanted me to use for which step.Now that it is installed, my only gripe is when I flip it back up into the stowed position, it hits the tailpipe with a loud CLANG! sound. I've contacted the manufacturer, but no responses yet.
