Scotwood Industries 50P-RR Road Runner Premium Ice Melter, 50-Pound

Wow! I was so thrilled to be able to get 50 pounds of Scotwood's RR Premium Ice Melter delivered quickly by UPS in the middle of an ice storm shortage. It arrived a day EARLY and it worked very quickly to melt the ice. Given the shortages around here, $59/50 pounds delivered, was a reasonable price, too! I read the reviews that said it was difficult to open, but I had no problem opening it. I pulled the tab a few inches, then wrapped the tab around a claw hammer and went all the way around. I stuck the claw under the top and it opened with ease. Thank you!

Super duper buy Put it down within 5 minutes. It starts melting. Whatever is left. It's unbelievable. This is the only one I will ever use. And we put it down in two spots. Waited 5 minutes and this is what it looks like now I'm going to do the rest of the driveway.

We bought the Road Runner Premium Ice Melter because we couldn't find any locally, and we had some seriously treacherous black ice on our driveway. It was really difficult to get up the driveway safely—but this product did the trick! It started working quickly, melting through the ice and making it much safer to walk and drive on. The granules spread easily, and the 50-pound bucket gave us plenty to last through the winter. My husband was able to open the bucket without too much effort. If you're dealing with icy conditions, this is a must-have. It works great, comes in a sturdy container, and gives you peace of mind when dealing with winter weather. Highly recommend!

Rock salt works great

I've actually gone through the bucked much quicker than I expected but it does everything you could ask reasonably. (You could ask for a 500 square foot drive to do it with a cubic inch of ice melter but that wouldn't exactly be fair!) Ice, snow, and sub 20 degree temperatures and the ice and snow disappeared. Now, with 3"+ of snow, shovel, then salt. No matter the amount of ice melter down, 3" of snow will build up, but the little bit left on the bottom was effected by the leftover melter. Great product and recommended. Price isn't what you would pay for 50 lbs at your local hardware store, but the bucket seals well and the markup isn't extravagant, at least when I bought it.

We bought a bucket of Road Runner ice melter (what we call rock salt) from this company a year ago, and we LOVE the bucket and rock salt so much, we ordered another one for our adult son. FAST DELIVERY right to our doors. A 50 lb bucket! Great way to store rock salt. And my husband and I then order bags to refill the bucket. My husband says the lid is very tight and secure, keeps all the weather out. We love the bucket because then nothing spills, and nothing gets wet. Best invention for rock salt! We don't have the mess we used to when just using bags. We live in Salt Lake City, and even though I hate the snow and cold and ice, Road Runner rock salt saves the day for us. We've tried many other rock salts over the years, and they damage our concrete a lot. Road Runner rock salt has always been the safest and best for our concrete driveway and walkways. We go out of our way to find Road Runner, and we're grateful we found this seller. We've also compared prices, and this company offers very competitive prices. Yay!
