I was definitely told to fast the night before, but I was so worried about post-op nausea that I got last time I had a surgery that I wanted to get something that might help in advance. This appeared when I looked up "pre-surgery drink" and I did kinda feel like my situation fit the description of someone who might need this. About a week before I tried some after getting winded carrying a ton of packages up to my apartment, figuring I could use the protein after the exercise and in preparation for surgery too. I have no idea what I was expecting these to taste like, but I regret trying it straight first. It's thick and syrupy like cold medicine, and kinda smells medicinal too. That said, Peach flavor specifically tastes like if someone tried to make peach savory, and not in a good way. Tried drinking it in a glass of soy milk with a tablespoon of sugar, and while that did help with the taste, the smell and texture didn't exactly go away as much as I had hoped. Both times I couldn't finish a full serving. I'm currently not allowed to remove my bandages, so it's kinda hard to tell if this is making me heal any better, but I also just don't want to try any more of it because the scent and texture of liquid medications make me nauseous. That said, I hesitate to give this a lower rating because I also can't tell if my issues with the stuff is simply a matter of preference.

Two days before the procedure, I had 2 doses of the product to keep my protein levels up. Doses are small, easy to swallow, refrigeration helps.
