Excellent quality
Burnt the past two models. third sauce pan is a little different, narrower and taller. it has subtle pour spouts on each side in true sauce pan style. well-fitting lid. try not to burn this one, as $90 is price to pay if rice is left cooking too long (twice)

love this pan
I really wanted to wean myself away from Teflon. I was looking for a stainless steel 10" pan with straight sides. It was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Everyone told me to get cast iron, but I know I wouldn't have taken the time to keep up with care and feeding of cast iron. Besides, I have arthritis in my hands, heavy pans are difficult for me to hold. When I saw this pan, I balked at the price at first, but the reviews were good. I bit, bought the pan, and I'm so glad I did! It cooks better than my old Teflon pan, and if I soak it a bit, it cleans up really easily. Pros - cooks evenly, a little hotter than aluminum but I adjusted; very durable; lighter than cast iron; no "non-stick" surface to come off in your food. Cons - if food sticks to the bottom, it takes a little soaking in water and dish soap, but then a light scrub with a scrubber sponge takes it off in a minute. Now I'm looking at other sizes. I would buy this pan again.

2.5 quart, best so far
PRO: Perfect size for small electric burner (bottom is rounded so bit hard to measure but grill surface is 15cm to match 15cm burner). Strainer lid and spout that actually works and cleanly strains/pours out the spout and not escaping all over allong the side of the lid Spout on both sides! I don't have a single dominant hand and regularly use the dual option. Short handle that doesn't tip empty pot. Handle is also thin which is perfect for my small hands and a comfortable rounded shape (the pot is quite heavy). CON: expensive. heavy. I always feel like a thinner material would theoretically heat up faster (and be way lighter) although all these heavy, bottom layer pots claim to be fast heating. Electric burners are so slow to heat it still takes forever though. Would love to also have a 1.5 option that is the same dimensions except shorter in height. I've gone through quite a lot of stainless steel strainer pots of similar size and cost and this is this has been the most expensive butbest so far.

What a difference!
What a difference these pans make. I bought 2 and two 8 quart sauce pans. I threw the rest of my pans away. I use these and I’m covered sans my cast iron. The 8 qt has the option to buy the steamer insert as well which I’m going to do. The pans heat evenly with less heat so I had to learn to cook with these pans. I cook now without food falling out of the pan and onto the floor. The sides of these pans are tall enough to handle my way of cooking and are suitable for Frying food as well. The glass lids are a plus because tomorrow’s left overs go right into the fridge and I don’t worry about Teflon gassing into the food. For a moderately priced pan, I would recommend these pans to someone who LIKES to cook. I will never go back to non stick pans again after trying these pans.

Excellent sauce. Heat conduction is very even and very ...
Excellent sauce. Heat conduction is very even and very consistent. It also responds pretty fast to changes in temperature of the heat source. Not quite as quickly as copper but very very close. A professional cook might discern the difference but the even the experienced home cook will not notice any difference. I don’t work for Calphalon or any other pan manufacturer but I do a lot of home cooking. 2/2020 update. Had this pan for a little over 2 years and it's a work horse. The handle stays cool and the cover handle stays relatively cool. Cleanup is relatively easy even when cooking sugar. I like the pan so much that I'm going to purchase the 3 1/2 quart model. Bad news is if you burn something it isn't going to be just one spot it'll be the whole bottom of the pan. Which reminds me, I have been using Steel-Glo (an old P&G product I think) to clean this pan up but see that Steel-Glo is no longer on the market. I any one knows of a similar product I would appreciate the refference. 3/2/20 I have tried the 3 1/2 qt sauce pan and it’s essentially the same as the smaller pan. Making custard type pie fillings isn’t an issue and neither is making caramel/toffee (basically a controlled burning of sugar). 1/10/21 I did down rate this sauce pan pan to 4 stars because I think the aluminum plate sandwiched between the 2 layers of stainless steel on the bottom of the pan is pretty thin. For me that’s not a problem as I have a European style electric range burners (think a cal-rod buried inside a big chunk of cast iron). If I’m not the only one with that type of burner I’m pretty certain I’m one of a pretty small group. In short if you’re using a standard cal-rod range or a gas range you will very probably have difficulty with hot spots and also with the pan bottom rapidly responding very rapidly to fluctuations in the heat source. The goal is to spread or average out those fluctuations over the entire bottom of the pan over a extended period of time. A slow and even heating is what’s desired. You will probably need to think your your equipment needs through pretty carefully before purchasing this type of pan. A heavier bottom tri-clad pan may suit your cooking equipment a bit better.

Excellent stainless steel cookware.
This is a very dependable piece of cookware. I have owned one just like it for at least 10 years and it never let me down. Unfortunately I have a habit of putting something in the pot, sitting it on a burner, and boiling it dry. Eventually the stainless steel surrenders and you must look for another pot. Luckily this is exactly the same pot without stains of course. I have only cooked it dry once and am trying not to do that again. Look forward to many years of use. Absolutely recommend the Calphalon cookware.

Perfect in every way.
perfect as always with Calphalon. Same diameter as the 5 quarts, slightly more than, half the height of 5 quart. Not as heavy as the triply pans. Goes well with the 11-inch stainless steel lid that i use already use with my 5-quart pot.

Durable, reliable and, like magic, put it on the stove and things heat up!
Calphalon is known in the world of kitchen stuff to be well made, long lasting and living up to its reputation. This sauce pan is true to form. Well worth the price point, I've found that anything stamped with the Calphalon logo exudes quality and reliability. For a household of two, this 2.5 qt. size is perfect for most sauce pan applications. Highly recommended.

Overall good and like it, but difficult to clean
I am happy with this pan. The pan size is ample enough to cook for a small family. The length and depth is normal, not too big not too small. Heavy and classic. Here is the downside- as it is not non-stick so it stick and difficult to clean. Still seeing some stain I don't know why.

Excellent product
This is a solid stainless steel pot with graduated measuring units on the inside. Side of pot has pour spout, lid is see-through and has holes in two places on the rim to remain on when draining liquids. Have been looking for this size of pot for several months and was unable to find in-store.

Better than expected
Very well made and I especially like the see-through, glass lid. Narrow, tall build needing only the size of the small stove burner , therefore energy efficient.
