A classic . . . in French
I first discovered Astérix fifty years ago when I spent a summer learning French in Québec. I have loved Astérix and his friends (especially Obélix and Idéefix) ever since. A little Latin and a touch of classical literature help to understand the jokes. You can get them in English translation, but they are much funnier in French. If you have any French at all I urge you to try one. So glad to be able to get them now in a Kindle version.

La premiere histoire dans la serie! Faut lire. Drole et ingenieux. The very first story! Have to read this one. Clever and fun.

Review for the Kindle edition
I love Asterix, but this Kindle edition is basically unreadable. The page scans are low resolution so you can't make out the text, and there's also a lot of white space around the content on every page, so you aren't making effective use of the screen real estate. Kindle apps are focused on text, so it's easy to change font size, but hard to zoom in on images, and even if you do zoom in you can't read much because of the low resolution scans. These would be absolutely great in Comixology format, with high detail pages where you could zoom in on individual panels.

Il senso umoristico di René Goscinny e Albert Uderzo mi è sempre piaciuto. In un trasloco sono andati persi alcuni libri fra cui quelli su Astérix, Obélix, Idéfix e compagnia. "Astérix le gaulois" appartiene ai primi libri usciti su questo "mitico" eroe. Troppo felice di averlo potuto ricomprare
