CUTCO Super Shears/Scissors #77 - Classic Black by Cutco Knives

My absolute favorite scissors! Well worth the money, this is my 3rd pair. They have maintained sharpness through years of use throughout my home and garden. Easy to use, easy to clean (I separate them with one click and put them in the dishwasher). I use them somewhere every day! Their functionality goes well beyond that of all of my other scissors.

I sold Cutco knives door to door back in 1982. They were the best and still are. These shears cut bones and are the best for all uses requiring scissors in the preparation of meals in the kitchen. The edge stays sharp long. The sharpening guarantee with Cutco has gone down the tubes. During Covid they send me a knife sharpener that ruined one of my knives. Now you must pay for shipping there and back and it's not inexpensive (unless you compare to the cost of the Cutco product, which is expensive). Great, high quality products. The handles are same material as a bowling ball. Get the serrated steak knives as they never go dull because they have the tips of the serrations to protect the real edge. Costco has Cutco in the warehouse from time to time so keep your eyes open.

These are my ‘Go To” kitchen scissors. They will cut anything. I love how they come apart for cleaning too. They can easily be sharpened when needed by using a scouring pad.

July 2025 update - Still outstanding performance from both pairs (in the shop and in the kitchen). We still buy Mr. Sanchez' cheap stuff for other uses around the house. Often, I just give up and get the shop pair. I know it's a lot to pay for scissors but it's like the old days (1999?) when stuff was quality and lasted. _______________________________________________ We have a full set of Cutco utensils and love them. We had the demonstration of cutting a penny with the scissors and I was sold. We use the scissors all around the house when we need a good, straight edge. I then bought another set for the garage and constantly mistreat them, cutting flashing, aluminum nails, 1/16" stainless plate, steel cable (thin), etc. They remain very sharp and I know Cutco will resharpen them whenever needed. VERY good quality.

Cutco products are expensive but they are worth it. You get what you pay for as it goes.
