Brilliant!
I've had 3 very nice cotton hammocks for a few years now, and have only used them a couple of times because it was not very practical to tie them to the trees in our orchard (takes quite some time to find the right spots, adjust rope lengths, etc.) The other day, I started looking into spots where I could hang them on our deck, but was worried about damaging/weakening something if I started drilling and mounting stuff all over the place. Finally, I started looking at hammock stands, after pretty much giving up on the other options, because I've always found them to be rather ugly. But, luckily, I stumbled upon this great stand... What a difference! First of all, it is very compact. More so than I expected. This made me realize that what I disliked most about the stands I had seen was their gargantuan size. Also, because of its size, it fits very nicely on the deck, or even inside the house (a great option for a rainy day). On top of that, it is brilliantly engineered. Everything comes together (or can be taken appart) in just a few minutes, and without any tools. Finally, it is pleasant to look at (I got the bronze color, which blends nicely with the wooden deck). I honestly couldn't be more impressed by what a brilliant stand this is. In fact, I will be getting a second one, since there is plenty of space for another stand/hammock, thanks to its compact size.

Works well with my Mayan Hammock...but not without it's issues...
I ordered the bronze stand since it was considerably less money than the the 'grey' finish and I think it is a nice color. The finish was fairly scratched straight out of the box, however. I was able to assemble the stand in about 15 minutes by myself and needed no tools. The 'directions' are on the carry bag but are not very explicit. However, there are only so many ways that the pieces can go together. The holes on the cross bar go DOWN. I had some difficulty with one of the screw knobs not wanting the thread correctly, but patience and attention to making sure I did not cross thread it eventually got it in.I purchased this for use with my 13' "matrimonial" mayan style (string) hammock. The stand DOES work with this hammock and I can put the hooks down one more on each leg as it stretches (although, I find washing helps 'shrink' it back up). I prefer the wider size hammock so that I can lay on it diagonally which is how the Maya use theirs. Because of the width of the 'U' that holds the hammock strings, the hammock will not expand to its full width, which makes lying on it at a full diagonal impossible at my height of 5'7". I can lay at a slight diagonal which makes my typical side sleep position possible, but it is not as easy and comfortable as it was in Mexico when the hammock was hung full length via wall hooks. However, considering the amount of space this stand takes up it is quite comfortable! The stand does 'jiggle' a bit if you move about in the hammock much but it feels very sturdy and I have no fear of the stand collapsing or otherwise causing a problem for me.Due to the length of the stand and the length of my hammock it is not quite possible to hang the hammock at the ideal height (chair seat height) to ease getting in and out of the hammock. The hammock hangs a bit lower than I'm used to which makes it a bit more difficult to get out of. I can do it, but it does deter popping up when you realize you forgot a glass of water...I believe this stand will work better with the narrow "single" width hammocks that are better for shorter adults or young children. It is easily mobile, easy to disassemble, reassemble and pack away. I can see myself packing this and my hammock if I do any long road trips that will require sleeping in a hotel, to ensure myself quality sleep.

HONEST REVIEW: Great Quality & Finish! Easy to Assemble. Great for Small Hammocks!
I use reviews prior to purchasing anything. Therefore, I am going to be thorough for those who are like me.I've had the item for 2 days & love it. The Rubbed Bronze Finish is a rich chocolate. Love it! I'm a 47 year old female homeowner. This was so easy to put together! Took me less than 15 minutes. For those who are stumped as to what size stand to buy (like I was), this stand is perfect. Great for smaller hammocks. I measured my hammock stretched from ring to ring. It was 9.5" long (to be exact 115"). The stand has 8 holes on each side of the stand for you to hook your hammock. Mine is on 3rd hole down. Will update if the product fails or continues to do well over the months/years. Hope this helps!

As advertised
Assembled quickly right out of the box. Feels very sturdy. All parts evenly coated; no variation in color or feel. Took it down and packed it into carrying bag. All parts fit easily. Packed it is fairly heavy but easy to carry.

Good hammock stand
Got this to go with what is apparently a decorative hammock. The stand works quite well! It can be difficult to screw in some of the screws, so I wouldn't call it super portable, but it can be disassembled and moved. It also came with a nice carrying case. It does seem sturdy, and I wasn't worried about any tipping. I have, however, only used it on concrete so far.

Easy to Assembly&Pack, Durable, Great price
Packaging: some unnecessary plastic, but nothing tedious or overkillAssembly: about 10mins and you can swing in your hammock! Putting it back into its bag can be a P-I-T-A, (thats why I gave it a 4) but we don't do it often, so it's not a big deal.Durability: we've used inside and outside(in weather) and they have been great!Overall: Great purchase! Would Recommend!

Construction Ordeal
The pieces fit together very poorly and are almost impossible to fit together properly. After trying for 30 minutes to connect two pieces together they slid into place unaligned where the bolt cannot be screwed in. Tried to move twist it so the hole can be accessed by using my entire body weight as leverage for over 15 minutes to no avail. In frustration I tried the other side and they would not even fit together at all. About an hour of trying and straining and all I’m left with is calloused hands and and aggravated hernia... Simple and clear instructions, bad construction. Also, the bronze finish was already flaking off right out of the box.

Passed the 'kid' test
The media could not be loaded. My boys loved it! Comes with a nice bag, and simple enough to assemble. Feels very sturdy, works well with our hammock. Can't wait to bring it to our next camping or beach trip, or even the park down the street!
