ASICS Women's Gel-Resolution 5 Tennis Shoe

I'm normally and runner and could speak confidently about the different running shoe features. Court shoes? Not so much. I'm a beginner in the tennis world. I took a tennis class in college (many, many years ago) and played from time to time since but never really bothered with a real tennis shoe. But, I'm taking tennis lessons this summer and court shoes were a requirement. I chose this shoe because I've run in the ASICS Gel Resolution running shoes for years and love them - plus the reviews were excellent. After a few weeks of wearing this shoe I can say that I like them quite well. The fit was spot on for me (8.5). My feet feel supported with no sliding around inside the shoe. They really grip the court yet feel light and responsive. The only problem I've found is that the toe bed comes to an odd angled point that's too small for your toes so you've got this strange extra bit of empty shoe at the toe. It looks a little odd to me and I've caught the toe a couple of times when doing some fast foot work drills. As I've said, I'm a newbie. It could be that court shoes are built this way and it's very likely that catching the toe in foot work drills is due to my own clumsiness and inexperience The "weird point", as I refer to it to when talking to my husband, wasn't enough for me to drop the rating down to a 4 stars, but it was a very close call.

I have only worn these a couple of times, but I did have another pair before these. I bought this brand and model two years ago. Out of at least seven pair I tried on and walked around in the store, this ASICS GEL shoe gave me the most support and cushion. The store only had the shoe in all white at the time. I don't like "white" shoes, especially athletic shoes. Part of that is vanity, as I have a larger foot for a woman and white shoes just make my feet look larger. Plus they tend to look dirty so quickly. Cleaning them in the washing machine, just breaks them down. But since this brand and style was the best fit for me, I bought them. Support for my feet and body is far more important than the shoe color and my vanity . I have had my original white shoes for almost two years now and they have served me well as far as great support. When I recently noticed Amazon had these GEL-Reso 5's in various colors, and at a much reduced price from my first "white" pair, I had to order them immediately.This new colorful pair are just as comfortable and supportive as the first pair. They also feel lighter on my feet. Don't know if that is my imagination or if they actually are lighter. I would definitely buy more of these in the future. And, Amazon is the best for deals!

I am an avid 4.0 tennis player. I have had two knee surgeries in the past year and need a tennis shoe with good support. This Asics fits the bill. I purchased a half size bigger than my regular shoes. The arch support is noticeable and great. The toe box has ample room. I wish the shoe laces were a bit longer and find that the heel slips a bit however I am unaware of this during play and seem to notice it only when walking. The shoe is firm and not cushioned like an Asics running shoe but that is standard with any tennis shoe. Just don't expect the comfort of your running shoe! The Diva Pink is especially bright but I'm so glad to be back on the tennis court after surgery that I decided to have a little fun. Amazon's price on the shoe, especially with a 30% discount at times cannot be beat. I paid a total of $90 compared to $140 at my local shop and I received my shoes the day after I ordered them. During our match yesterday my opponent wore a hole in her shoe so she went in the clubhouse and bought these Asics as she noticed about one in three women on the court were wearing them!

My feel veer towards wide, not exactly an official wide size, but definitely getting there. These shoes were fine for my feet, right out of the box. They run true to size, I usually wear a 6.5 and the 6.5 worked for me. I ordered 3 pairs of tennis shoes and these were the favorite. They offer alot of support and my feet do not slip around in them when running around the court. Keep in mind I am a new tennis player so this isn't a professional review of any sort, but just a newbie. However, I do train at the gym and run so I knew what I wanted out of a tennis shoe - more lateral support and to be able to grip the court instead of having my feel fly around within a sneaker. These were a tad heavier than the other two pairs I ordered but the fit was by far the best. I ordered the K-Swiss Women's Bigshot Light Tennis Shoe (too wide, clunky) and the ASICS Women's Gel-Game 4 Tennis Shoe (comfy but little support - felt more like a running/gym shoe) and kept this pair which I've worn a few times so far very happily.

I absolutely love this shoe. This is my third pair but, my first from Amazon. The price point was excellent and the shoes arrived within 5 days. It can be hard to find popular sizes of this shoe in stock in the color white color I prefer so, I decided to take a chance online. It couldn't have been a better experience. This shoe is perfect for me. I am a pronator and it provides plenty of support and great padding around the ankle for comfort. There is no break in time needed because of the construction and materials used in the toe box. It does narrow rather unusually down near the toe but, I have a fairly wide foot and this still fits my foot in the size I normally wear.

The shoes are fine, I'm only wearing them for orthopedic reasons and they do provide solid support and stability. Important to note, for me these ran a 1/2 size to a full size larger than any other athletic shoe I've worn. (Due to the length of the shoe.). Pretty irritating when changing sizes requires shipping shoes back and forth, extra time/costs/etc. I always wear an 8.5, that's what I'd ordered. Too big. Reordered an 8 and probably could've worn a 7.5 but kept the 8 due to shipping hassles.

There was no need to break in this shoes, it was comfortable from the moment I put it on to play tennis. My first time in buying Asics for a tennis shoe but love it. I bought it because it looked very stylish, I loved the hot pink-silver combo I figured if it didn't fit right I could always return it but this shoe is a keeper and plan to buy it in different colors too. I played 2 hours tennis match & felt very comfortable at least for my feet. Lateral movement was great & felt like a feather in my feet. Definitely I would recommend buying this shoes. I've always used New Balance for a tennis shoe which is fine but doesn't compare to the Asics as for as style & lightness. Laura, MO

I think I have tried every brand of tennis shoe on the market. Some are too heavy. Some are too stiff. And others just haven't fit right. Let me add that about most things I am REALLY not very picky. Never thought I would worry so much about a tennis shoe. But after years of playing I realized the right shoe DOES make a difference. This is by far the best shoe I have ever used!! Love everything about it. Great fit (true to size), moves well, light weight and looks great. It's expensive, but no more than most and well worth it. I'll only buy Asics from now on. If you are on the fence about it, just go for it. You won't be sorry.

This is my second pair and they are great. I will, however, buy "non-slip" laces this time as I have to re-tie them every hour, they loosen and the tongue slides to the side. The shoes are fantastic!
