I bought these for my wife for Christmas and she’s been using using them for the last couple weeks. The non-stick coating works really well. The pans feel sturdy and bake evenly, which is a big plus for layer cakes. The 3 different sizes are very convenient. Overall, this set is a great value for the quality. Arrived on time and in good condition. However the grounded edges that curl under are sharp and could cut if you’re not careful. I’m not sure if it’s fixable but I like the sizes of the pans and that they are nonstick. Appear to be very sturdy.

I already knew this was a high-quality line of bake-wear. I have purchased many brands of bake-wear over the years at many price points and nothing I have tried matches Chicago Metallic. I already have several cookie sheets and a jelly pan made by this company and they are heavy, strong, durable pieces that turn out consistently good results. I don't need 8" cake pans very often, maybe only once a year or so, but I recently needed two for a special cake...I have great 9" pans, but they wouldn't work for what I wanted, and I also have two cheap, flimsy 8" ones from years ago, but I could only find one of them--it was a big pain to have to bake one cake, let it cool, remove it from the pan, then bake the other one! So, I remedied that by ordering these and they are exactly what I wanted. I am checking for any other missing pieces in my collection of bake-wear and I will definitely be buying this brand! I am sure it is possible to buy more expensive bake-wear, but in my opinion it is not possible to buy better bake-wear; I am sure these will be just as functional 25 or 30 years from now as they are now...maybe I will be able to hand them down to my kids or grand-kids just like my cherished cast iron!

I use these pans for cake baking in a gas oven. I previously bought plain silver stainless pans. Those pans just cooked weird for me. Was trying to make a Victoria sponge and they would rise in the outside a bit and the centre would be sunken. I bought these pans and the dark finish allows better heat transfer. My sponges now rise nicely and cook evenly. These are non stick, but I still butter and flour them. So far I've needed no utensils to get my cakes out. They pop right out with ease. If I was going to use anything I think I'd only use a plastic utensil so as not to damage the pan with anything metal. To was I use soap and hot water with a regular sponge. No abrasives. I have pie pans the same company with the same finish that I've had years. One tip, don't know if it has extended the life of them, but I store the pans with paper towels between them so as not to maybe damage them. Great pans and heavy quality.
