Question 1

What size eyes does each bear need?   I'm wondering if 12mm is a good size or if I need to go bigger /smaller.  If you've made this, what'd you use?

Locally, we have craft stores that carry two sizes of eyes and one size nose~ made of plastic. I have used both sizes.  Darice Shank Back Animal Eyes 12mm 6/Pkg-Brown.

How many yards of fabric do you need minimum to make one of the bears?

yah know, i have yet to make one...but i got the pattern out and fabric amount wise i think they could have done a better job but here's what it says...1st its all based on 45" and 54" fabric but they don't tell you which when they tell you how much...bears "a,b,c"  (a)which is the one in the black vest in lower right hand corner says: bear 7/8 of a yard, nose 2" sq black felt.  vest, collar , and hat 5/8's of a yard. bear "b" is the white one, bear "c" is top center with printed vest.  bears "e" and "d" take  5/8's of a yard, 2" felt for nose, vest 3/8 of a yard , collar 1/4 of a yard.   in the notions it says 18 oz of polyester fiberfill but it doesn't say how much for each bear   ..... good luck !  hope this helps ...its the cutest pattern for bears i've seen ...
