Wüsthof Classic 6" Hollow-Edge Chef's Knife

Perfect size, weight and shape for my purposes. I wanted a knife suitable for chopping veg easily and efficiently. While my husband uses a larger knife, I feel more comfortable with this slightly smaller knife. The clearance from handle to the cutting board fits my hands well, the rocker angle of the blade allows for rhythmic chopping, the extremely sharp blade makes quick work of everything. Worth the money. Also, if you’re into better knives, it’s also worth the money to invest in a professional knife sharpener. Chef’s Choice Edge Select electric sharpener.

Ordered this for my wife and a Christmas gift. I have longer chef's knives but they are a little difficult for her to handle so she asked for the 6" version. This knife if perfect or her and I love it as well. Great balance, well made and sharp as a razor out of the box. Wusthof's are more expensive than other knives, but you get what you pay for. Worth the investment.

My husband ordered this after doing a lot of research on knives. I’m glad he did because I would’ve never spent this much myself but I have to admit it’s made a world of difference and I find myself saying “Sometimes you do get what you pay for.” The price is hard to swallow but if you think it through it really is worth it to invest in good tools for the kitchen. You can skimp on spatulas and serving spoons etc...but you really do need a good sharp knife especially if you are cooking 7 days a week. It slices through everything effectively but I can peel carrots or potatoes without having to worry about slicing my fingers. I have a low key fear of knives cause I’ve seen and experienced several mishaps due to them but after using this for a couple weeks now I’m not fearful of it.If you are in your kitchen a lot you won’t regret getting this knife. We aren’t professional chefs. I don’t know how they would weigh in on this knife BUT we mostly eat home cooked meals and I would say we do know our way around a kitchen. We have found that this does suit our purposes. I have no reservation about recommending this.

Oh heavens! This knife is serious craftsmanship. Got it for hubby at Christmas, and he used it to carve the prime rib. Loves it, cut beautifully. Now have something to get him for Bday and Fathers Day, the rest of the set! Well worth the money.

This knife arrived ridiculously sharp and makes prep work easy. The 6" chef's knife is a nice size; I have a larger 8" version that can be a bit unwieldy. I'm not convinced that the dimples on the side make that much of a difference.Yes, it's expensive, but it's also the last chef's knife you'll ever have to buy. Get it sharpened periodically (or learn how yourself) and you'll be using this for another 50 years and your kids will inherit from you and use it for another 50 years.
