Easy to install. from then on, easy-on and easy-off. I don't like regular laces and these fulfill ny needs perfectly. I really like the ease and comfort. I buy a few packs at a time so I don't run out. They will break every now and again, but the benefits far outweigh this. I also put them on my boots and I have found that if I put a pre-worn Hickie at the top of the boot, it will make the boot much easier to get on/off. Then I replace that Hickie with a new one which cinches up fine on my foot. I highly recomment these Hickies lace replacements.

I have shoes that the first eyelet is normal the rest are elastic loop type. It was too tight and look awful doing the regular lace up, the loose C type I brought the lace up from the underneath the eyelet then ran it through the next loop and the next loop, this work but took some error and trial to figure it out since it would show otherwise. The last loop that you have to do the regular type lace up I took it to one below to lace it thru another loop this got it to lay flat. My husband said it took me 3 hours I sure was mad at anyone who talk to me or the way he tried to stand over me to watch me. So heads up if you have any other type eyelets like I have you will have some doing to get it to work right, but if you understand what I did should go smoother my 2nd shoe went fast. I had those shiny silver I was trying to get to show too. My shoes are very comfortable with the no lace knock on wood. My feet are medium but swell badly on vacations so had to go to orthopedic wide shoes. My feet are still swollen and bruise from the last vacation no thanks to some old sketchers that I put on after my feet had swollen really badly and walk a long way in the Baltimore airport to Southwest gate 17.

These do their main job of making your shoes into slip on. They are a little more difficult to install than normal shoe laces because of the silicon loop you have pull through. They are consumables since my have consistently snapped overtime, so you will probably have to buy more at some point. The reason I'm giving them a four is because the last package I got from them was previously opened with Scotch tape sealing it up, there was still the advertised amount of laces but it's still weird.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I just had surgery so I cannot physically bend down to tie my sneakers, but walking is part of my PT. These make it possible for me to put my sneakers on without having help from another person. I got these recommended to me, I like the ease of installation and they really work. I'll probably switch to these permanently instead of laces, even after I'm back to 100% it just eliminates having to tie shoes, they just never come undone while your walking, etc. Quality: They feel like they won't break from everyday average use and i would recommend them to others. NOTE: You may need to buy two packs if you have large feet and/or you're wearing high tops or boots. If you notice in the picture I'm using 9 per shoe (18 total), they include 14 per package. I'm a size 15 with wide flat feet, using high tops for more ankle support, so I needed extra at the top two levels or they would be too tight for my feet to get into easily during recovery.

I tried these on two pairs of SOM shoes (made in Colorado, check them out, they’re awesome!) and they’re just too tight to get on. They’re so tight that they pop open trying to get my foot in. If I remove the top two eyelets, I can get them on, but they’re uncomfortably tight over the top of my foot. Check the photo; these shoes have a distance between eyelets of 2.5-3”, and I’d say that they’re twice as far apart as what these laces are designed to work with. If you have shoes that are more than about 2” between eyelets, I wouldn’t recommend these. I even tried looping two hickies through one eyelet, which was much too loose, looked bad + bulky, and didn’t stay fastened. Looking at some of my other shoes (like Altras), they have a much shorter distance between eyelets, so they would likely work better. I wish they offered these in different lengths, or in a variety pack so one could customize the fit to their actual shoes / feet. Reading through other reviews, it sounds like durability is also a concern, and I could definitely see that. All in all, these aren’t a great replacement for traditional laces IMO. I guess that’s why regular laces are still in widespread use.

Love my Hickies. Ties are so bulky, Hickies are very stream-lined. Love the way they look. I have tried the less expensive versions of Hickies, never again. These are the best!

A few months ago I discovered Hickies through a shoe sales person, ordered a grey pair through Amazon and loved them. a new pair of walking shoes last month and ordered a second pair of grey Hickies for those shoes. What came back were translucent Hickies with a mismarked stick-on label that stated they were grey. I returned them, noting the cause of the return was a mismarked label. I ordered another pair a week later thinking the problem would have been resolved…it wasn’t. Another set of translucent laces in a mismarked package arrived. This time I tried to exchange them. I had said in my reason for the exchange what the problem was. I asked them to not just look at the label on the packaging but take a few seconds to actually look at the laces inside to MAKE SURE they were the correct color before sending another translucent pair. THEY OBVIOUSLY DIDN’T TAKE THE TIME TO CHECK THEM OUT because once again I was sent the wrong color in a mislabeled package. Now, even though I like the product (when sent the correct color) I don’t trust the integrity of the company to correct an ongoing product problem. So I ask you Hickies Company…are you going to FINALLY correct this problem with me or just think, “Hey, it’s no big deal…he’s only one customer, we can afford to let it slide.” What will you do…anything?

I love these. I got so tired of stopping in the middle of a store to tie my shoes!!! These are one of the best things I've ever bought. I wouldn't be without them, I always have spares on hand.

I actually purchased these for my mum as she has bad arthritis in her fingers and was after something that she could use easily use. Soon realised that they wouldn't be appropriate for mum, so I put them on my joggers. I had been suffering with foot cramps for over a year and after a couple months of having these on my shoes I realised that my foot wasn't cramping. I used to tie my laces very tight and I think that these laces are great for holding your foot in the shoe without the pressure of normal shoe laces. I'm not saying that these laces will cure foot cramps, but if you tie your laces tight on your foot these may help.

These "Hickies" are used in the shoes of my disabled son and make his life so much easier and provide him with another element of independence. which can only be good.
