Reliable and Effective Insulation Foam
The Great Stuff Pro Gaps & Cracks Insulating Foam Sealant has been a reliable product for my home improvement projects. This 24 oz can provides a generous amount of foam, which is great for sealing gaps and cracks around the house. The orange color makes it easy to see where the foam has been applied, ensuring complete coverage. One of the things I like most about this product is its ability to expand and fill even the smallest gaps, providing excellent insulation. It adheres well to various surfaces, including wood, metal, and masonry, and creates a solid seal that lasts. The foam dries quickly, allowing me to move on to the next step of my project without much delay. A minor downside is that the foam can be a bit messy if not applied carefully, but using the right applicator gun helps manage this. For anyone tackling insulation tasks, this foam sealant is an excellent choice. Its expansive properties, strong adhesion, and ease of use make it a valuable tool for sealing and insulating efficiently.

This stuff is great ;)
Pros Absolutely adore great stuff. I’ve never used it in construction or plumbing settings, but it works great in aquariums/terrariums! I made the base of a terrarium background with it (WIP) and it held on well!! You can cut it off with a blade very easily, as well as just pull and scrape with your fingers. Very good at being waterproof though!! Cons If you don’t use the whole can in one sitting, it’s really hard to get the rest out (in my experience). I had to get a whole new nozzle just to use a can that was half empty, and even then it struggled. The insides were all dry foamed up! But if you use it all, great product. (And maybe I’m just dumb and didn’t do the reuse part right lol)

Satisfied
I was quite excited to stumble upon great stuff in black. I have not seen it available locally and it offered an immediate solution to a small out building/garden shed on our property. I applied it to the gap between the metal roof and cedar siding. You could see where foam had been used years before but the wasps had begun to easily enter last summer. I waited for a milder day this winter and had kept the foam inside the house for optimal results. The product worked, but I am not sure it is as sticky as standard foam. Several “worms” dropped to the deck below - which wasn’t an issue for me because it is to be replaced. If you are over something newer, I would probably use a drop cloth or something. It also didn’t expand as much as traditional gaps/cracks foam but that wasn’t a big problem either. The color is more of a shiny charcoal- in my application the over hand hides it but I can see situations where it may have to be touched up with a darker, flatter pain to make it “disappear.” Will definitely buy again, hopefully the commercial bottles will be available soon for use with a foam gun.

No wonder they named it Great Stuff! It's awesome.
I love this Stuff! It solves so many problems for me. I have used it to build rock and concrete flower beds, stopped up holes, turned water, etc. Just a word here about "rat/mouse" resistant blow foam, which is quite expensive, compared to this product or regular Great Stuff - If you really want to keep rodents out, save yourself time and money by using steel wool every time you find an access. Put the steel wool in the hole and spray the foam into it and the hole. I learned that the hard way. This product has a "moisture cure" feature so you can apply it to damp surfaces. It is super easy to remove, and the best thing I have found to cut it is a hacksaw blade. It gives me flexibility to put things where I need them to be now, knowing I can easily move them later. I keep a couple cans on hand just in case. NOTE: Shaking the can is very important, critical actually, and should be done vigorously for several minutes. Also, I set the cans where their contents can get warm before I shake them. It can be cold outside but if the contents are warm and well-shaken you can dispense the entire can. By cold, I mean around 35 degrees Fahrenheit. ACETONE (Ladies, think nail polish remover, as most removers and contain acetone.) will clean it off your skin, just wash and apply lotion afterwards.

How to love (not hate) this stuff!
Have you ever used one of the standard cans of Great Stuff to fill some cracks and ended up with huge billowing hunks of it when you only wanted a small bead? Next, you find out that because it’s so difficult to control you emptied the can on one simple job. By now you have it on your hands, your clothes, and your phone rings. Yep. You’ll never buy that again. But wait. This really is Great Stuff. You just bought the wrong can. Get the gun ($25) and buy this. The gun stops and starts instantly, is minutely adjustable for perfect caulking. Seriously! It puts the foam right where you want it and only enough to do the job. This one can will equal 5 of 7 of the hardware store variety. Also, VERY IMPORTANT, don’t bother with the cleaning fluid and all that. I keep the can on the gun at all times. Even if the can runs out. I just rub the end of the nozzle when I'm finished. When I am ready to use it again, I just rub the nozzle tip with a utility knife and it takes right off. Shaking the can for a minute is the longest part of the process. I have on occasion left a can on for almost a year and it started up like I’d just put it down. Just make sure you keep a can on the gun and the foam inside the gun won't cure. It’s Great Stuff!!!

Didn’t get this product

Didn't deliver on it's promises. Foam only partially expanded and there was not enough in the one can to fill a relatively small hole in a tree which was what the intended use was. Disappointing and won't buy again.
