This music movement sounded so quiet when I first got it but once it was installed it was very easy to hear. It sounds nice and plays well. This is just want I needed for the snowy night mini diy house I bought on Amazon and it fits well. So yes this fits in the mini diy dollhouse kits.

Excellent replacement item
Had a music box that was my mothers but the music works did not work. Bought this item and swapped it with the broken music works (three screws, easy fix). Fit perfectly in the music box. Sound is good and loud. Able to give to my grand-daughter for Christmas. Recommend this item to anyone.
