Lime Crime Velvetines Liquid Matte Lipstick, Salem - True Brown - French Vanilla Scent -Long-Lasting Velvety Matte Lipstick - Won't Bleed or Transfer - Vegan

I do love this color (Salem). It is a pretty dark brown color with a slight hint of a red hue. It's like a 90s version of the shade 'Wicked" I think. I bought Salem and Wicked together because I love the brown shade of Salem but I also couldnt resist that beautiful deep red shade of Wicked. I love both equally. I am an ultra pale chick and I rock these. Photos attached: 1st one is Salem and Wicked without flash, second one is both colors with flash. These photos show the product after its dried completely and one coat of product. The formula: it is a liquid to matte formula. Yes, it is a bit drying, but if you're gonna rock a matte lipstick, you will have to deal with a bit of dryness. I will give you a warning/what not to do: one day I had the unbrilliant idea to add some of my Smith's rosebud salve (its basically a lip gloss) over Salem to see what would happen. I mean, I knew what was gonna happen..I just wanted to experiment. Adding a gloss or balm over these will cause a not so good effect and the velvetine will not last long. It looks pretty with a gloss over it but a gloss will cut the wear of the velvetine but like 60%. Compared to other brands of liquid to matte: My all time fave liquid to matte is KatVonD but these velvetines come in close to first. These are a tad bit more drying than Kat's formula. The velvetines also tend to get that "ring" effect more..you know, the effect where the inside of your lips loses the product but the outer lip retains the product? This is naturally caused by the moisture of your mouth causing the product to rub off, but Kat's formula doesn't cause this ring effect as much as lime crime. Overall, I like this. I really do. It's worth it because it is very long wearing. I highly recommend carrying the tube with you all day for touch ups because after you eat, you'll need a touch up. And always use straws when drinking to avoid the product disappearing on your inner lip area.

Wow! This lipstick exceeded my expectations. I kept hearing about this brand but though it was a bit pricey just for a lipstick but now I know why everyone raves about it. Holy smokes is it awesome and I want it in every color. First off the packaging and container it comes in is super adorable. I know some people mentioned that the smell was to much for them. Well, I loved it. It's light with a hint of sweetness to it that is extremely pleasant. I ordered the color in Salem and it is a highly pigmented bold color. It's like a brownish red with more on the brown side. Because the color dries with a matte finish I always put coconut oil on my lips beforehand just to seal in moisture. The color really glides on and what I did was put on a light first coat so it didn't bleed into my foundation. After that dried I went in and filled in any spots i missed and did a second layer all over. When it dries the finish is beautiful and bold. What I was really curious about was how it was going to come off. I've had dark lipsticks stain my lips to bad it took an entire day to finally fade away. Not with this one. I washed it off easily and my lips were not stained at all to my surprise. Amazing product and a $20 well spent!! I can't wait to get the rest of my colors in.

Love the color. Love the application. Love the longevity. Decent product -Update: forgot to say in first review that that the color wasn’t what I expected but I still love it. It’s actually my favorite. Literally gets me thru the day. I rarely have to reapply meaning I can eat and drink and at the end of the day it looks just about how it did when I first applied it. In love with this lipstick. Pretty sure I’m going to stock up on it! In this review I’m specifically talking about the salem shade.

I like it. I put on a matte pink liquid lipstick by Sephora under Lime Crime. It wasn't planned. I put on the first. Then, decided to go with the second without taking off the first. Lime Crime stayed on all day until I started eating and drinking. Then, just the inner layer of lips faded off. Then, when I got close to home. I decided to experiment and put lip gloss over my lips; over the lipsticks. It covered and colored my whole lip. I loved it. Another, time I decided to wear Lime Crime, alone. Nope, it did not stay on with just one coat. I find that Sephora brand did not cover my whole lip even with second or third coats. Perhaps, because it is pink. Although, Lime Crime's shade did but with one coat. It was too easy to come off when drinking and such. So, now I'll top with Sephora then finish with Lime Crime. By the way, the shade I chose is awesome. I love it. P.S. Liquid lipsticks are tricky. This is an awesome brand. Should I come across a better product. Then, I'll know this one is subpar but I don't know if that is the case because I am new to liquid lipstick. I like it, a lot. I plan to order other shades. Oh, their shades look so amazing. Plus, I have been spreading the love word of mouth. I hope this helps.

very easy to apply ,smells great the only issue i had was that oince it dries down my lips are dry as well which i understand it a matte but it supper dry . i applied a very small amount of coconut oil before i applied and it was sooooooo beautiful i love the color and it looks great on my skin tone im a dark dark chocolate and finding a nice deep is hard sometimes because offten the colors to wear the same way the are swatched but lime crime is always on point no matter what your skin tone is

El color no tiene nada que ver con la foto, es un color café obscuro, nada como la foto, pero en sí el labial es muy bueno y duradero

Ich habe einige dieser Liquid Lipsticks & ich liebe sie!!! Die Farben sind klasse und halten ewig. Allerdings sollte man eine Lippenpflege drunter auftragen.

Dieser Liquid Lipstick ist sehr flüssig und dadurch schwierig zum auftragen, die Deckkraft finde ich aber ausgezeichnet, eine Schicht reicht aus und es wird nicht fleckig. Die Farbe Salem ist wirklich sehr schön. Es braucht sehr lange zum Trocknen und bleibt aber auch nach längerer Zeit etwas klebrig, deshalb löst sich nach kurzer Zeit die Farbe an der Stelle, an dem sich die Lippen berühren. Wenn man den lipstick nur für eine kurze Zeit trägt, vllt für ein Fotoshoot oder so, dann ist es genau das richtige, für den Alltag und längeres Tragen eher ungeeignet. Ich denke für den Preis, gibt es bessere.
