Great Product for HTPC or Likewise Computers
Absolutely love the thing. Bought this for use with my HTPC and it does the job perfectly. The track pad works great, and while I hate track pads, it's much better than having to have somewhere to put a mouse and the room to move it around. The scroll wheel functions just like a normal scroll wheel on a mouse, and has a "middle click" button. The volume buttons are an awesome convenience. The connection is solid and I haven't had a problem with it whatsoever as well. The RGB is either the rainbow effect (it doesn't move or flash) or other solid colors you can choose from; not much customization, but that's not what I bought it for, and shouldn't be what you buy it for either. The brightness of the keys is great in a completely dark room which I do use it in. It's super lightweight, easy to use, and fits in the palm of your hand. The keys feel as nice as they can for a device of this price and size; you're not meant to be typing essays on this of course anyways. Also very impressed to learn that the battery is removable when it arrived! So if the battery dies, no need to throw the whole unit away, just buy a new battery. It also charges via USB-C which is very nice, and does come with a short cable if you don't have one. I will definitely buy another one when I'm in need of a small control device for a PC like this.

Perfect Mini Keyboard for Couch Gaming or TV Boxes
This little keyboard is awesome for couch gaming or media setups. I use it with my Android TV box and occasionally with my PC, and it connects instantly with no lag. The RGB backlighting is a nice touch, especially at night, and the keys are very responsive for such a small device. The built-in touchpad is convenient and works well for navigating menus or browsing. Battery life is solid, and it charges quickly with USB. If you want a compact, all-in-one keyboard and mouse, this oneโs a great pick.

Almost great, functional improvement over i8, but poor ergonomics/key layout.
I used an Rii i8 for a while with my HTPC. It worked well mostly, but I noticed that the touchpad would sometimes not work right. Since these are cheaply priced and cheaply made, I figured it was just time to replace it, so I bought this X8. Overall, I like the X8 better. There are some negative changes though. The X8 has a slippery ABS plastic back, instead of the i8's slightly rubberized texture. The left and right mouse buttons are high up on the X8, and if it is sitting on a flat surface, the X8 will rock forward when trying to push those buttons. On the old i8, the two highest buttons were Power and "Open Media Player" button that I never used. I use the mouse buttons frequently. These are not huge issues, but little things that could have made the X8 much better. I am also not sure how much I like the charge port on the bottom of the X8, but I know that is a personal preference. I do like the dedicated scroll wheel, the multi-colored backlighting, and the status lights being reasonable brightness. (The i8 status lights could almost be used as a flashlight! The X8 are bright enough to serve their purposes without being blinding in a dark room.) If they introduce a Gen 2 of the X8, I would like to see either the mouse buttons moved, or the curve on the back of the controller being closer to the top, so it does not rock forward when using it on a flat surface, and I would really like a USB-C charge port at this point.

Easy to set up, nice layout, scrolewheel.
Works great. The layout of keys is good and I can read the keys easily. No issues pairing it like I had with bluetooth. Having the scroll wheel built in is very nice.

Didn't even know about these
This is a dream come true really. While flight simming I have to push my full sized keyboard behind my yoke, making typing very cumbersome. I picked up a smaller Bluetooth keyboard to keep off to the side, but that wasn't ideal either due to having to scoot over to use it as intended (with hands on the home keys!). Now I have this handheld keyboard and man is it nice. It's really plug and play on my windows 11 pc. Just plugged the dongle into my USB hub and it worked right away, no setup required. Now it's always available sitting on top of the yoke, so now entering airport codes, frequencies, whatever, is as easy as reaching for it and using it, and works very well. Seems well made with responsive keys and a logical way of using the shift and function keys to obtain special characters and/or the Fkeys. Backlight works well and changing the color scheme is effortless. The mouse track pad also works very well, which was a surprise to be honest. I didn't think it would be useful, but I'm finding that I'm reaching for my mouse less and less. Yeah, it works that well. And this is coming from someone who really doesn't care for laptop track pads. Also, very glad it has a rechargeable battery, just plug it in after every flight and it's ready to go next time. Overall, a very well thought out devise. Highly recommend.

A+ idea, D- execution. Sadly very disappointed.
I really wanted to love this thing as I am trying to set up my PC to run as a sort of quasi console of sorts, but still want a keyboard(and "mouse") conveniently available whenever needed. This device felt perfect as it was tiny and could serve as both in a nice stylish non obtrusive option that could fit in my couches center console next to me for use when needed, and best of all it was rechargeable! (Which my couch console also has built in). So it looked great on paper and even when I first received it I was over the moon by how cool and perfect it looked.... Unfortunately this is where the excitement ended. Upon actual use, what I assume is due to the bluetooth connection being extremely poor, causing it to fail to recognize inputs a lot...especially mouse 1 your most important input...this makes it extremely frustrating to try and do anything. And mind you this is despite it having 2 methods to use mouse 1, both have the same issue, hence why I think its a bluetooth issue more than anything. And mind you my living room is by no means massive, it is about 6/7ft from the receiver which should be more than manageable for a supposed 2.4ghz bluetooth connection. On top of that another extremely annoying aspect is there is no dedicated delete button, rather you have to hit the function key and then the backspace to hit delete, which admittedly wouldn't be a big deal if that was all you used delete for, but since you need to hit ctrl+alt+delete for task manager, and ctrl+alt+fn are all on the same side as one another it makes it rather annoying to have to basically set this "handheld" keyboard in your lap to be able to then position your hands and fingers in a way to be able to press all 4 buttons at once. All in all I gave it a 3 star though to be honest I went back and forth between 2 and 3 as it's probably more of a 2.5 than anything. It does function*, it is neat and compact and convenient*, but the execution just leaves a lot to be desired. I am likely going to grab the highly popular Logitech keyboard alternative instead and am undecided if I will still keep this for simple light tasks and just have the Logitech as workhorse when I need to do more complex tasks but we will see. This is only my first day using it so maybe it will grow on me or maybe it will set my rage in fire even more and I will punt it right back to amazon lol who knows.

Could be more responsive
Edit 2: The scroll wheel died this morning. Never buying a Rii product ever again. This review started as a 4 star and has progressively fallen as I have more time with this poorly made product. Must have just gotten lucky with the other model I had that I loved. edit: after a longer time with the unit I'm still struggling with connection issues. It hiccups and reconnects every time I use the device, and yesterday I lost all touch pad control until I unplugged then plugged in the unit. Lowered from to 3 stars. Sometimes it will skip typing whole words or just repeat the last letter typed. Some features not as good as the i8, but still very good. Most of my critiques are because I have 5 years using the older model and have yet to get used to the new keyboard even after a few weeks of use. First and foremost, the wireless radio in the X8 is not as good as the previous model. It always misses double letters or spaces if you type a little fast. The touch pad sometimes struggles to register input and is occasionally sluggish, seemingly due to a weaker reception (anything more than ~4ft gets a bit slow sometimes) . The range of the device seems lower than the i8. I miss the dedicated media controls and right/left click locations. The scroll wheel is very high quality and has a middle mouse button click, but I find it not placed very ergonomically, and I find myself using the touchpad to scroll most of the time (works great) I also preferred the keyboard layout of the previous model, with f keys and a delete button. The larger keys and offset layout of the X8 is good, I just wish fewer functions were hidden behind the function key. There are many improvements and features that I really love about this keyboard. The USB-C charging and easily removable battery are top tier features. My older i8 (purchased ~2019) does not hold charge for more than a day and a half of use anymore, and replacing the battery is less intuitive. The X8 has a standard rechargeable battery that's easy to find replacements for, so in terms of longevity (over 5 years), the X8 is easier to maintain long term. The RGB settings are cool (I keep mine all red) Battery life is great, we use this keyboard every day for light browsing tasks and I charge it about twice a week. Overall, if it were more or as responsive as the i8, this would be a 5 star product. In using this keyboard to write the very review you have just read, I encountered issues with registering double letters, and spaces if I typed too fast. However, the quality is good, and I recommend this for media centers or light browsing.

Works perfectly
This keyboard works 100% straight out of the box, the trackpad works and the scroll wheel works on my Google Tv menu and in apps, someone tried this on a Samsung gaming monitor with smart tv, and the touchpad and scroll wheel didn't work, so keep this in mind as far as compatible brands and tv types go. The keys are quite responsive, though it's smaller than I thought, even watching videos and images, looks slightly bigger, but until you get it yourself, it is small, but very usable, when using the touchpad, the mouse pointer moves from one side to the other about 25% of the screen if you move slow, if you move your finger on the touchpad fast, it will move about 75% of the way, so at times you will need to slide a few times but this is no big deal, if anything it's a good thing, not being too sensitive, thinking where did the pointer go, the mouse pointer stays on screen for about 10 or so seconds before it disappears, so that's good when watching tv or movies. So confirmed, this works perfectly on my 58" CHIQ 4K QLED w/GOOGLE TV (U58QG7L model), looking over Amazon, they seem to work on several other tv brands, but I cannot confirm these, but should be fine, check reviews for your brand or tv type to see if anyone has listed it.

Great little keyboard
Very handy and keyboard works great. One down side. If you have an older tv the usb bluetooth can sometimes not be recoginised hence not being able to use the keyboard for apps or tv control. That said if you have a fairly modern smart tv you have no problem using this device.
