Solid Oak Pre-Finished (Lacquered) 900mm Twin 'T' Moulding/Profile/Cover Strip/Threshold/Door Bar with Plastic Fixing Strip

A top quality product which is just what was required. The seller was very helpful in resolving a delivery hiccup and I would be happy to deal with them again.

This cover strip / threshold looks good in the pre-finished version and is well finished with no rough pieces. Easy to cut to size but fitting was another story. Using the offcut (about 4” / 10cm) the plastic fixing strip was relatively easy to push together and harder to separate - as it should be. The sides of the U section had clamping teeth and were narrower at the open top than the bottom. However once the fixing strip was screwed into the gap between the 2 sets of oak flooring, it was very difficult to assemble. I had to hit the cover strip hard with a wooden mallet to engage one end in the fixing and equally hard to get it to engage all along the length starting from the engaged end. In fact, I unfortunately split the opposite end of the cover strip - fortunately this was at the door hinge end so not particularly visible Having to hit the strip so hard it was my concern that one of the thin top pieces would split along the grain. I suspect that once screwed to a solid base the fixing strip is far less flexible for fitting the cover hence the force needed to assemble. In hindsight - a wonderful thing - I should have sanded a chamfered edged on the base of the T to ease the cover strip into the fixing strip. Once fitted the cover strip looks very good at the door threshold between hall and room but extreme care is necessary when fitting the cover to the fixing strip to prevent splitting.

Easy to install looks good when installed.

I liked the fact that it was an exact replacement, it was the same in every detail, mine was 30 years old ,damaged and needed replacing, fitting was a piece of cake.

Ordered this after putting down a new Oak hardwood floor. Colour match was perfect and the threshold is solid oak as well. Finished off the flooring brilliantly.
