The Tiny Giant Killer... The Koss KTX Pro 1
Let me start by saying I'm a headphone and earphone enthusiast, it is my very expensive hobby... which i love. The Koss KTXPRO1 is one of the best budget headphone you will find out there. it is incredible you can pay £20 for this level of sound. These are very musical with quite a smooth sound which is pretty balanced and non fatiguing. Bass is lush and pretty well controlled and goes low. Mids have a good amount of detail and are spread out nicely by a surprisingly open soundstage. It places instruments well around the head space and even though treble can be relatively smooth, you don't find you're missing anything. I've thrown all sorts of music at these and they just make everything sound so much fun. At high volumes I haven't heard them distort which is a common trait with budget sets, bass especially stays nice and strong. Now I have other sets that let me hear slightly more detail, with better dynamics and more analytical in nature, but if I just want to relax and enjoy my music I put these on. Genres - I've thrown a lot of music at these and they keep up. I'm not big for opera or musicals, but i watched the entire Phantom Of The Opera 25th Anniversary and loved it. Once again that soundstage that is done so well makes everything so open and orchestras fill your head and vocals stay centre and euphoric even. I watched the battle scenes in Star Wars Force Awakens and cruisers and lasers swept inside and around my skull. Better still, at high volumes nothing got distorted. They are very light and have a very good headband that makes them sit nice and snug and never loose. They are open back so remember these will leak sound, but it is this feature that gives them there open airy sound. You can wear them out and about, but you will hear your environment. Conclusion - The Koss KTXPRO1 look cool, retro and sound amazing. My most recent pair of open back headphones, the well liked Philips SHP9500, costing £100... they don't get close to the sound of the KTXPRO1. Out of the 80+ sets of headphones and IEMs I've had, these are in the top 3 and possibly the most fun. they are better than the Koss Porta Pro 1 (another quality set). They prove good sound doesn't need to cost an arm and a leg.

Audiophile sounds from something this cheap is mind blowing
I've been in to hifi since 2003 so I know good sounds when I hear them. These headphones are shockingly good. Burn them in for a few days and you're going to be met with some really sublime sounds. Comfort is amazing too owing to the design they only sit on the ear hole itself and do not disturb the ear. I'd give it 6 stars if I could, do not hesitate to buy but burn them in with pink noise for a few days!

The greatest headphones under £30. No Joke.
These broke after 2 years use. No big deal I'll order some more. Why? Because these are the only headphones I've owned where the sound has been so genuinely the deal breaker that I'm happy to buy more. It's not the most rugged and it's not the most comfortable. But I lived with them constantly using them and I'm happy. I have very expensive audio technicas I use for proper listening, but if I want to watch a movie in private quietly, I'll pop these on and these are so good sounding there isn't much I have to compromise to get a good experience. It's just a shame they don't sell them in stores and aren't more popular. People are being ripped off with really awful sounding headphones with no bass and harsh sound; do yourself a favour and give these a whirl. For 15 quid, there's nothing to regret. They would be a solid 5 star, but the star knocked off is due to them not being the most comfortable and the longevity. But it's a small price to pay for awesome sound.

The best headphones in this price range?
I was at first skeptical about whether these toy-looking headphones could sound as good as people say, however I'm pleasantly surprised to report that they do indeed sound very good for the low asking price. The thing I like most about them apart from the sound is the fit. They're suitable for people with large heads. I take a large hat size and only have to adjust them to the second setting. This might be a problem if you have a small head but it works well for me. The plastic frame feels durable enough to not feel fragile and lightweight enough to be comfortable when worn. Aside from the reassuring feel of the ear pads holding in place I can hardly notice I'm wearing them. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase. They may look like toy headphones at a glance, but they are in fact a very grown up bit of kit.

Er, Excuse Me. Did These Really Cost Under Twenty Quid?
For sitting at computer listening to music...can't be beat at this price. Typical Koss emphasis on quality rather than big ol' bass cans. These cheap beauties have me hearing sounds I hitherto haven't distinguished and have made me have to change my equaliser settings on iTunes. A, er, sound buy.

Has volume control.
The headphones are fine generally and the sound is okay. I also like the volume control. The only complaint is that they do not fit very well and seem to be too high/large to fit snugly on the head. Also the earpiece is then not in the correct position for sound as they keep dropping down. I have spoken to a friend who also has them and she finds they do not fit unless she supports the with something underneath the band. It is impossible to move around when wearing them as they keep falling off. I have other headphones that fit snugly and they cover the ears too.

Astonishing musicality for the price
I have owned a number of the best budget headphones I can find, as a bit of a hobby these last couple of years. These include Sennheiser, AVG, Rane, Urbanista, Superlux and others. Incredibly, I find these bargain-basement on-ear Koss cans beat the lot of them for sheer, crisp, clean, open musicality, in genres from ECM jass to Americana folk rock to classical. They even almost eclipse the iconic Koss Porta Pro, and probably do in some respects. They go alongside another unlikely cheapo over-ear set from Stagg (which I've also reviewed) as my current joint favourite headphones.

Excellent quality at low and prices
For the price these headphones you cannot go wrong excellent sound and most importantly really comfortable to wear in long periods the volume control is a bit stiff but apart from that knees headphones get a five star rating

I'll admit, I haven't been into using headphones now for nearly 10 years, but with the advent of the iPod and other MP3 players, I decided that it'd probably be a good time to look for and invest in a good pair of headphones. I'll also admit that I don't yet have a portable MP3 player, but I' probably get one sooner or later. However, with that said, I do listen to MP3s that I've transferred from my purchased CDs on my PC. I have boomy 5.1 surround speaker system for the PC that literally shakes the house, so for me to listen to my tunes at adequate volume without disturbing the other occupants, I figure a good set of headphones was in order. So what is it that I, or anyone should look for in a good set of phones? Well, clarity of sound for one. That includes several aspects. One being bass response. Most [cheap] headphones can't replicate solid deep bass. Because lets face it, good bass (in loudspeakers) require huge magnets and a large cone and lots of power. A headphone has none of that, but apparently, technology in headphones have come a long way in the past 15 years. Another aspect of clear sound is a phone's ability to replicate the high and mid-range frequencies. What good does a lot of bass do if it drowns out the rest of the frequencies? None. And of course the last thing a set of phones need to do is not crackle and distort at high volume. This is a MAJOR problem with a lot of cheap headphones. Well, even some higher priced ones I'd imagine. Well, going back to 10 years ago, I had a pair or two of KOSS headphones that could replicate good bass, but this was way before digital music media and from old style cassette walkman-type devices, so the full range of sound fidelity was limited due to the medium used. I remembered and liked the KOSS headphones, which lead me to check out these after they were pointed to by a reviewer for a similar set of Sony headphones. So how does the KOSS KTX-PRO1 Titaniums perform? EXCELLENT! I must admit though, I was at first confused at why I wasn't getting good bass. Like I said, I use these on my PC, so I have several different software players with different enhancement "plug-ins", one having a "headphone setting", nonetheless, giving a slightly tinnier sound than I was expecting. Turns out that all it took to boost the bass, was to increase the main soundcard mixer's bass level, rather than the plug-in's "hyperbass" level. And what I got was the deep solid, supposedly 15Hz bass response that this product advertises. And it doesn't drown out the other frequencies either. The grill mess on the outside of the ear piece, I suspect, may help with the bass response, but don't quote me on that. And the most important thing with these phones is that they do not distort at all. Crystal clear sound at practically any volume. The set itself is very comfortable to wear. Some reviewers here may have mentioned that there's only ome pivot point on the ear piece, but it's at the correct angle that it should be adequate for most people's ears. The bottom line is that if you want a good, sounding set of headpones, you're gonna have to pay more than $5. Let's face it, you get what you pay for. From what others have said here, this exact set sells for over $45 at places like Radioshack under a different model name. So getting this set at Amazon for under $20 is a hellava deal. Oh, one more thing...over the ear phones rather than these "new" air-bud things.... for one I can't stand sticking anything into my ear. They usually don't stay in cause my ear canals are strangely shaped and two they are just downright uncomfortable. I can't even wear earplugs for the same reason. So this was a nice find to get a excellent pair of over-the-ear headphones at a great price. You can't go wrong with the KTX-PRO1s. I listen to heavy metal mainly and they do a great job in replicating all the intricrate sounds in probably one of the most sophisticated forms of music outside philharmonic orchestrations.
