Works
Works very well but seems pretty expensive for such a small rubber part

It works!
I got this drain to keep odors in my shower at bay, and I am very happy with the results. No more odors. At first, I installed it only one inch deep, and that caused water to pool. So I installed it at 2 inches as recommended, and the water no longer pools. I guess it needs the weight of the water that two inches provides for the flap to open and drain the water. I measured my drain and bought the appropriate size, so the fit and size are perfect. Regarding durability, I got this device some months ago, and I have not had any issues since. Totally recommend it.

No more stink!
New to us townhouse has a stinky basement shower drain. Every time one of the 3 toilets from anywhere in the house flush, stinky fumes would come out of the drain. My investigation tells me a working p trap was installed and there was no evidence of clog or blockage in the system. Stink is most probably the result of an inefficient vent system in the drains. More costly solution was to install another vent = $$$. I stumbled upon this product while researching solutions for my problem. Installation took less than 5 mins. Pop the drain, make sure drain pipe is clean, drop this device into the pipe and push to make sure the rubber “fins” provide a good seal around this device and the inside wall of the pipe. Ran the shower full blast for around 5 mins to see wether water pools on the floor which may indicate draining is slowed down. Surprisely, no change. So I filled up a bucket of water about half way and dumped everything into the shower floor while shower was still running. Water initially pooled in the floor but was gone in a few seconds. Yehey! There’s no significant slowing of water draining! Before I installed this device, I read reviews that say draining slowed down to the point of water pooling on the floor while taking a shower. That was my biggest concern. Almost everybody was saying this product kept the stink out but had that issue of slow draining. For those having problems witn slow drain with this product, try pushing the device deeper into the drain. That will help build more water pressure between this device and the water on the floor. Also, it may help using a shower head that is one of those water efficient kind rated for 1.5 gallons per minute. Very happy to get rid of that annoying stink!

Works Well, But Could Be More Versatile
I bought the 3-inch G Green Drain to reduce odors and gases coming up through the drain, and overall it does what it promises. The fit was good — the size matched my drain as expected and installation was straightforward. Once in place, it effectively blocked unpleasant smells from coming up through the drain, which was the main issue I wanted to solve. It seals from the bottom up as described, and I noticed a difference right away. However, I think it could be improved if it also allowed water to flow freely from both directions. Currently, it works best for stopping backflow and odors, but it doesn’t allow water to pass downward from above as smoothly as I’d like. This would make it more practical in a wider range of situations. In summary, this is a solid product if your main concern is blocking odors and gases from rising up through your drain. Just keep in mind it isn’t designed for two-way water flow. Pros: • Easy to install • Fits as expected • Effectively blocks odors/backflow Cons: • Would be more useful if water could flow too to bottom

Works great
I think the bad reviews are for small drains. That said I’m using this in a 5” basement floor drain that goes straight into the sewer. My washer and utility sink drain into it, and it has no P Trap in the concrete floor. It smelled like the house sewer, stunk up the whole basement and house. Because of the immediate bend in the drain a Sureseal wouldn’t work. I popped this in and it’s been working for weeks without a problem. I’ve been very happy with it. I’ll probably buy a few spares, but it has been holding up to a house of 4 washing clothes, utility sink use, and a 3 Ton AC condensate drain line. It can handle a high flow of water, (like many many many gallons at a time) so I’m not sure what the negative reviews are about it draining slowly are about - probably bad plumbing and not the device itself.

Would not recomend!
A very poorly designed trap. It has no top ring to keep it from sliding down the drain pipe. It relies on light friction to hold it in place. Run some soapy water down the drain and the friction was gone. After twice fishing it out of the pipe with a hook, I attached it to the drain grate with a zip tie. It did not drain freely and would allow the shower base to fill up with water. It would take 15 minutes to empty.

Perfect for our issue
This thing is a life savor. I have been covering my drain with an empty Walmart bag and setting a body wash bottle on top of it. Been like this for a year now. Embarrassing to have to explain to people who use this bathroom why they see it in the shower, lol. Anyways a buddy who lives up north was visiting and told me this can be an issue for people with basements and such and they use this seal to stop the issue. I live in Florida and never heard of this type of seal. So if you are silly and forget to install a pee trap under your shower pan, this is perfect for you.

Controls odor from drain. Doesn't always drain properly
It does a great job controlling the odor from my shower drain. However, I have had it installed for a little over a month. In the beginning it worked great. But now it is getting "stuck" in the closed position more often during a shower. When my shower floor fills with water, sometimes the weight of the water above the flap causes it to open, other times I have to poke a stick down the drain to open it. Once opened, it drains and then closes when it should.

Work better than I could have hoped!
Just moved into a new house. We have a drainage hole in the floor of our furnace room. No P-trap, just goes straight into the sewage line. Stunk to high heaven. Smelled sometimes of farts, sometimes of animal, sometimes of both. Thought the smell would go away, but after a month it was only getting worse. Evenings our basement and main floor would smell like the inside of a public washroom. Did some googling and found out you can install one-way valves on pipes like this. Ordered the waterless trap seal, it came three days later, and bingo-bango no more sewage gas venting into our basement (which is also where we sleep, so SUPER happy to have this problem fixed). Rarely do I encounter problems in our new house that are this simple to fix. Seal's been in for a week now, and so far no issues. Drains as much water as I can throw at it. Poured several gallons of water onto it just to be sure, and it drained the water faster than I could pour it. So I have no worries about it being able to keep up with the drainage pipes I've got pointed at it right now (furnace, boiler, and dehumidifier).

Overpriced Drain Seal - Be careful of manufacturers Dimensions
The product would be 5 stars if they could actually get the dimensions proper as per the manufacturer's website. It is well built and sturdy design, but outer tolerances are off as I ordered based on fit range in millimeters from Green Drain website. I have verified my inside drain diameter, and it should have a slight friction fit, but instead just slides into drain without any resistance. At the moment I have cut a band from a bicycle inner tube, and wrapped it around the outside to provide enough friction fit so it doesn't fall down into the trap below.
