All the exercises i've done so far (23) sound great and you get the feeling of playing even from the first chord. The cd starts later in the book and I do not know how useful it is. The book works well for an autodidact person even with no previous music playing experience. Compared to the 'for dummies' method, I find it to be more organized and professional. Overall, it is an excellent method but bear in mind that the book without constant hard work doesn't take you anywhere. It's clear and simple to follow even for a complete beginner like me. I suspect that someone with a little more natural talent than I have would be able to successfully work through this book alone.
