Terrible Material
I'm a big fan of the Columbia Low-Drag Offshore shirts. I thought this shirt would be similar, but it's NOT. The material of the Tamiami is falling apart after one washing. The material snags and runs like panty hose. I tried to return it, but I was outside the 30 day window. The shirt is a mess of loose threads and snags. Look elsewhere.

Made for fat people
I am a shade under 6"1' and workout fairly regularly. I ordered a medium per the comments. It's ridiculously baggy, you could easily fit my leg into the arm of the shirt. Not sure what body type this would fit except someone that's 200 lbs overweight.

Pilling like crazy
Pro: The shirt is very light and breathable at a reasonable price (I paid $26.40 including shipping). Con: The material is pilling a lot near the right breast pocket (After only 3 months of light wear).

I really wanted this shirt to work for me...
I have worn Columbia products for many years now. Everything from shirts, shorts, pants, jackets, thermals, base layers, shoes, socks, etc. Obviously, I love much of what Columbia puts out and, for the most part, I've never had any issues with their products. While I prefer their Titanium line, I also still have several articles of clothing from their main line. All that said... This is a really great shirt, that I wanted to work for me. I had read the reviews of this shirt, specifically that it supposedly runs very large, and was actually anticipating that I would have no issues with the sizing. As a bit of background, I am a big, muscular guy. I lift a great deal of weights, spending a large amount of time in the gym, outdoors, and in physical activity. My arms, chest, shoulders, back are all considerably larger than my waist/mid-section. So clothing can often be a tricky proposition for me. When I read multiple times that this ran large, I ordered accordingly. The "Large" size that I ordered ballooned around my midsection, but was so tight across my chest and shoulders that, not only was it tough to button near the top, but the vents in the back of the shirt were splayed out completely such that the white mesh lining protruded out. On that note, the vents are unlike the typical horizontal vent Columbia usually uses across the back of its shirts. Rather, the vents here are two - each placed vertically on the left and right sides of the shirt. It's different and, because it is, I felt it worthy of mention. Also, the arms, around the biceps, were extremely tight. Again, I have large biceps, so this was expected. I did not however expect just how incredibly tight the biceps area was with this shirt. I understand my clothing sizing issues are uncommon. But I found this shirt would probably fit very true to size. This shirt is also much thinner than many of Columbia's "fishing" shirts, but if you live in a hot/humid climate (as do I), this is a welcomed thing and would really be of benefit. Quality wise, it is typically great Columbia gear - well made, tough and able to take a beating (even though it is thinner) and looks good at the same time. In fact, this particular model is quite a stylish one and I could see it being worn for an array of uses - from fishing to going out for a casual dinner. Many useful, functional pockets as well. Again, I wanted this shirt to work out. Given that the Large was so big around the waist for me, I know that an XL will be even worse, but may allow for a slightly better fit across the chest/shoulder and arms. Still, it will not be a great fit, nor a particularly comfortable one, and for a single shirt like this which costs nearly $40.00, I expect a much better fit than is offered for me with this particular one. Had to return it, as much as I was disappointed to do so. Nonetheless, it's a great shirt.

Brilliant shirt for UV protection
Wonderful choice as a long shirt to throw over a t-shirt for great sun protection when driving, outdoor activities, etc. Super-lightweight and cool, wrinkle-free, packs very small, looks good too. I just ordered a second one!

Polyester is too hot, even in winter
I have bought these shirts for past many years as they were comfortable and protective while hiking, lightweight for travel and very versatile. Could even wear them out socially. Columbia changed from the earlier original cotton (a little heavy) to nylon/poly mix which was really good, cool and hard wearing. It was hard to believe that a man made fabric was so cool, tough, wicked away sweat and yet looked good, in attractive and unusual colours. In total I bought 20 or more shirts. Also bought them as gifts for family and friends as I had such a good opinion Unfortunately they now use ONLY polyester and this change has ruined totally what was a good product, making it HOT and SWEATY even in winter. Please, Columbia, change back to the nylon/poly mix. I bought at least 2 per year, now I would not even bother to go in their shop or look online.

Flappy Collar, One more button please!!
I do not like the flappy collar that this shirt has. The collar just falls all over your neck. I like for the collars on my shirt to stay up. This could have been accomplished if Columbia would have added another button to the top of the shirt. I ordered two of these shirts and I' am returning them both.

Very large and light colors are quite transparent
Agreed that size runs especially large. Also be aware the light colors are quite transparent. Seams and pockets (where the material doubles up) affect the look of the shirt.
