DC Converter Step Down Regulator 5V Regulated Power Supplies Transformer Converter (5V 3A 15W)

First bought this back in November of 2020 to step down 12V to 5V for a dash cam in a TC vehicle. After heavy use and extreme temperature changes every season, it's still in-service today (3/31/25). Highly recommend. I'm now purchasing another for a project using mostly 12V, it will step down to 5V to power some Arduino-controlled relays.

I would not always remember to plug or unplug the car cam. Now car starts-cams on, remove key-cams off, plus this is much better power supply than the one that came with the car cam. It eliminated 100% of the issues I was having with the cam when using the supplied USB cigarette power supply. It was so bad I was about to order another car cam. Another plus I received an email from Casey from Binzet today saying any problems let him know 24/7. So far Great product at a good price. I would buy again and highly recommend.

Compact, easy to install, stays cool. Allows you to power 5 volt standard USB accessories with your vehicle's electrical system. Using this to power both a Bluetooth receiver and USB audio-to-PCM optical converter in an autosound environment. After just over a year and a hot, humid summer, still going strong. Feeding power via a relay that activates when vehicle's ignition is on. Measures consistently over 4.95 volts output both when the vehicle is running and feeding 13.8 volts and when the vehicle is not running but ignition is on feeding only 12.4 volts. Excellent solution for a low price.

Haven’t permanently plugged it into my project yet, but upon mock-up, it appears to work well for what I need. This product is being used on a custom RC vehicle to step down 12VDC battery power to power a few low current 5VDC devices. Total load will be less than 3A.

I sun alot of Raspberry pi devices on my 3d printers and these converters are the perfect Solution as I want to not power the Pi with its own power source. I want the Pi to start when i power on the printer and power off with the printer. Thesse converters, when powered from the 3d printer power supply, allow me to power the Pi from the primter power supply. Tis allowss anyone run Octaprint or Klipper on the Pi but using the 3D printer power supply so it is all in one.

I bench tested this item to determine its specs. For a 12V input across a 3 Amp current draw with 1.5A nominal I get a load regulation of 3.6%. Voltage did not go below 4.9V unit drawing over 2.5 Amps. I was also able to draw 2 amps and keep output voltage above 4.9V with input voltages of 6V to 24V. During peak and overload current draw the regulator stayed cool to the touch. I bough this to operate an Ooma Telo from a 12V battery backup. This is to keep my VoIP system running during a power failure. I am very confident that this regulator will work for my intended application

Steps down 24vdc to 5vdc. Using it to power a nano wireless router. I have another one powering a raspberry pi3. The RP3 complains of under voltage but works fine.

Worked for my application, rear view camera instead of a cigarette lighter plug in.
