Zero Glycemic, safe for diabetics
I learned the value of this product early in 2021. Here-to-for, sweetness of the product has been reliable although different foods and beverages will require you to adjust to your taste. As such, you will discover more product is required to achieve the desired sweetness. After a year using this Monk fruit sweetener I personally do not experience any after taste other than a comparable to regular sugar after taste. I do not experience any Blood sugar spikes what-so-ever. I drink a strong coffee that normally requires about 1/3 tsp for mild sweetness. Morning Oatmeal with diced red apple and cinnamon, chopped walnuts and pecans for protein and 5-6 drops of Monk fruit sweetener. I RECENTLY HAD TO PURCHASE THE 1.5 OZ SIZE BECAUSE AMAZON DOES NOT HAVE THE 8 OZ REFILL SIZE AVAILABLE IN A REASONABLE SUPPLY TIME. (20 -30 DAYS, PROBABLY BECAUSE OF SUPPLY ISSUE FROM CHINA WHERE MONK FRUIT IS ONLY GROWING SOURCE). THIS MOST RECENT SHIPMENT DEFINATELY IS NOT AS SWEET. MY NORMAL CUP OF COFFEE REQUIRES A FULL TEASPOON OF SWEETNER INSTEAD OF THE 1/3 TEASPOON. SO I NORMALLY GET 6 CUPS OF COFFEE PER OZ OF SWEETNER. THE MOST RECENT SHIPMENT ONLY YIELDS 4 1/2 CUPS MAKING THE SWEETNER NEARLY 50% MORE EXPENSIVE. SO EACH CUP OF COFFEE HAS $4.00 OF SWEETNER PER CUP VERSES $1.50 PER CUP NORMALLY. :( I HAVE NEVER QUIBLED OVER THE PRICE @ 1.50 PER CUP. I DON'T MIND PAYING THE PRICE FOR SAKE OF GOOD HEALTH. THAT SAID, THE LOWER SWEETNESS OF MOST RECENT SHIPMENT LEADS ME TO WONDER IF MANUFACTURER IS DILUTING THE PRODUCT. I HOPE THIS IS NOT THE CASE AS THE PRODUCT HAS BEEN RELIABLE UP TO THIS CURRENT ISSUE. I call this the safest and best product on the market simply because it has no added sugar alcohol or Erythritol that will cause blood sugar spikes. Erythritol is an extremely sweet additive often used in other Monk Fruit brands and frequently (read the ingredient labels) is used as a sugar substitute in many processed foods that are labeled "Lo or No sugar added". Some claimed Organic Monk Fruit powder sweeteners have Erythritol added to enhance the sweetness. Those additives will however spike Blood Sugar. That said, consumers should read the ingredient labels carefully. I have had diet controlled diabetes for 14 years. Simply put, I have never needed Insulin or other medications to control the Diabetes. When first diagnosed I had been consuming a pint of Ice Cream every evening and eating any processed foods including Candy bars without regard to the damage all those foods I enjoyed that were having a devastating effect on my health and longevity. I then realized my terrible unhealthy diet would shorten my life. I struggled mentally for about two weeks while stopping all sugar and foods that elevate Glucose. I was really fraught with a lifetime of ignorance regarding my terrible diet. That is when I had an Epiphany of mind as I realized only I could prolong my life to an expected old age closer to 100. I am now 85+, rarely nap, do 30 minutes of cardio exercise daily, Survived Brady Cardia and Atrial Fibrillation with an implanted Pacemaker in 2021. My Diet is Hi Protein, lo saturated fat, lo-Carbohydrates, Fresh Organic fruits and vegetables daily, all for Glucose control. I also take up to 60 Vitamins and Minerals daily. Although this may seem like a horrible diet, the reality is how long do we expect to survive. I really have not encountered any unreasonable change of taste in the food I consume. It has been more a process of elimination of hi fat, hi sugar processed foods that we all know eventually lead to poor health. So can we conquer mentally the Lifestyle changes necessary for longevity? The proof for me personally has been that I have never needed to monitor my Glucose levels after the first three months of 3 X daily sticks for blood sample. I recently had to fast for an Esophagus surgery. My blood sugar after three days of starvation was 58. Medical staff at hospital was in a panic thinking I was in Hypoglycemic shock. Frankly I knew better simply because Diabetes is a huge money making industry and Allopathic medicine follows the industry directives. I felt fine but medical staff in their panic stood by while they pushed me to quickly drink three 8 oz glasses of hi sugar orange juice while they stuck my fingers for glucose blood. It took 45 minutes for my Blood Sugar to rise to 120. THE DIET AND LIFESTYLE WORKS FOLKS... The first year was a daily mental challenge. A close younger family member was diagnosed about the same time and that person has never been able to overcome the mental challenge necessary in following the diet that reverses type II diabetes. That person within 6 months was prescribed oral medication and within 3 months was doing insulin several times daily for Glucose control. He spent 3 months in hospital with Covid in 2021 and is now living with Oxygen about 6 hours daily. Conversely, I have managed to remain Covid free in spite of living in the same house with 4 family members all who had Covid. They did not quarantine and all since are now working to improve their health and diet. Good health to all, Bro@home

Hot vs Cold Beverages
I got this after reading about the health benefits of monkfruit and wanted to try a direct extract with no ethrytol in it, as ethrytol is hard on the liver and digestive tract. In addition, the component in monkfruit that makes it sweet is also a powerful antioxidant, which means this totally has that! 🤙 Took a chance on this to use in morning drinks and I need to say, I’m so grateful for this little gem! I know there are mixed reviews and I personally have also had some mixed experiences as far as what it works with, so I thought I’d give my two cents! 😊 As far as cold drinks go, this tastes the exact same as sugar IMO, of course I don’t have sugar a lot but it does NOT taste chemically like a lot of the stevia that’s on the market! 👌 So far I’ve used it in cold matcha, golden milk, cold brew coffee, chai, and other cold teas. In all of these I also use grass fed milk, which might add some depth to the sweetness... As far as hot drinks go, this can be a mixed bag. Hot tea without milk, or even with milk, is not very good with this in my opinion. Hot coffee with milk is excellent. I think I have tried hot coffee no milk with this and it was alright, not great... i feel like I did try that and I was left feeling in my stomach like there should have been more caloric density than there was, it was unfulfilling because of that. Hot chocolate is also a mixed bag in my experience, I think I may just prefer to have actual sugar in my hot chocolate... that’s another drink that doesn’t have a lot of milk in it the way I make it. ALWAYS get grass fed when possible! Haha I think it would not taste great in cold tea with no milk, but I haven’t tried it out... it’s the same sort of deal with coffee no milk, just leaves your stomach wondering, “is this all there is?” 😂 Never tried baking with this and probably won’t in the future, for the same above reason... Is it worth it? Heck yeah. Having sweet drinks that taste the same as their counterparts but with added health benefits makes this a winner... I don’t beat myself up for sweetening the drinks it’s incompatible with using honey. If I’d have it my way, there would not be a difference between the cold vs hot drinks but honestly this is the most pure sweetener I’ve ever used, and doesn’t taste like crud like the powdered stevia leaf I got... I’m stuck with so much of that crap now lol 😩 seeing so many monkfruit products that are cut with ethrytol makes me kind of mad because it ruins a good thing and all the health benefits that could come from using pure monkfruit. A final note: I refrigerate it most of the time but also have left it out for days at a time and it still tastes fine, so I feel like that aspect is just a precautionary measure... Also! I got this over 6 months ago and there’s still about a third of a container left, and that’s using about 4-6 drops a day in my morning drink, so it’s a great value! Get it! Your body will thank you! 🙏

Best Zero Carb/Zero Cal Natural Sweetener I've Tried
I've been searching for a sugar replacement for quite a while. I've tried just about everything, but still wasn't "happy" with how my coffee tasted when using them. I tried erythritol, sugar alcohols, stevia, and sucralose, but to me, they all had a weird after taste. I did use agave nectar for a while, definitely a first place winner as far as taste, but while its glycemic index was lower (how quickly sugar enters the blood), the overall sugar and carb count is still high. So while it was a little helpful in the short term to keeping my glucose readings from spiking, in the long term, it was still detrimental to the overall goal of drastically cutting carbs and sugar from my diet. If - like me - you're diabetic, or if you've ever done keto or low carb dieting, you understand the dilemma. I kept hearing about monk fruit extract, but most of the brands on the market are not pure - they're mixed with erythritol and other ingredients. Finally I found this brand by Smart138 Foods on Amazon. Simply called Monk Drops, it is pure monk fruit extract with nothing else added to it: no alcohol, not even water. It has no preservatives, so refrigeration is recommended after opening to preserve freshness. At $10, for 1.5 oz, it's a bit expensive, but I'm going for it. My health is at stake after all! A little goes a long way. To sweeten 6 oz of coffee, 3-4 drops is recommended. Of course, if you like your coffee sweeter, or if you pour a larger cup like I do, you'll need to use more. I use about 16 drops in a 16 oz mug of coffee. The BPA-Free plastic bottle and dropper tip has a very small opening so you have precise control over how much comes out. It drips 1 drop at a time, not a squirt like some other liquid sweeteners do. Even when you squeeze it hard, it still comes out a drop at a time, just faster. To open, the cap must be pushed down and turned, similar to a child safety cap, but it's quite easy. It has very little after taste. After trying as many zero calorie/ zero carb sweeteners as I have, I find this one has the least amount of aftertaste. My coffee tastes more like it used to... not exactly the same as with sugar, but definitely better than with stevia, erythritol, sucralose, or any of the others I tried. It's great in tea and lemonade as well. It can be used in baking, but you need to adjust/ use less: this product is a lot sweeter than sugar. In my opinion, one drop adds the sweetness of about 1/8 teaspoon of sugar. Servings per bottle: Each bottle has about 350 servings and a serving is 3-4 drops. Assuming you use 10 drops in a mug of coffee or tea, thats 35 mugs, give or take as to your personal preference and usage. Monk Fruit grows only in China, but this company, Smart138, imports it and bottles it here in the USA. It is Non-GMO, Paleo, Keto, Vegan, and Gluten Free. I recommend trying it at least once, especially if you are looking for 100% natural alternatives to refined sugar that are zero calorie and zero carb. It works for me! Will buy again! I enjoyed writing this review and hope you found it helpful. Thanks for reading! :)

Clean Taste
A clean sweet taste. my favorite substitute for forbidden sweetness. Pricey, but the bottle goes further than you would expect.

Good, but more dilute than it used to be.
This used to be my favorite travel monk fruit. The flavor is good, doesn’t seem to be mixed with anything bad, and the dropper works cleanly. But I count how many drops I put in my coffee, so I know my recent order is about half as sweet as it used to be. Sadly, that means it’s no longer a good deal.

HERE’S HOW TO OPEN BOTTLE!!!
UPDATE 6/12/22 I finally figured out how to open the bottle a lot easier! I used a PLIERS carefully turning with —gentle pressure—to the right and it worked like a charm to release the cap easily. Ready to squeeze and go! After that, I wanted all the entire plastic wrap off even though I didn’t need to. So I then —carefully—used the sharp point of a scissors (or knife) under the plastic at the very top of the bottle before the cap starts) and with a little tugging and ripping it downwards, got the job done. This product is worth the little bit of effort. It’s alcohol free and it’s competitor has 11% alcohol and some flavored competition has even higher alcohol content This is the only type, this plain one, with ZERO alcohol. And no erythritol added. Hope this helps my fellow monk fruit lovers. If you found this helpful, please let me know! Amazon gal I can’t get enough of this product after denying myself regular sugar due to borderline high glucose levels. This solves my sweet tooth issues without causing me to want more food after, which is what happens when I use regular sugar products. Getting the cap off was really tough for me though. The protective plastic wrapper is so close to the container it was hard to get off because I was afraid I’d puncture the bottle. I finally twisted the cap until the plastic around it gave way a bit, then carefully used the tip of a sharp knife to get under the plastic to be able to tear and remove. It was well worth the effort though, and nice to know it was so “tamper proof” that even i had trouble! (No issue of it leaking either, upon box arrival.) I don’t taste an aftertaste. It’s great with plain, fat-free yogurt, in my fruit/kale smoothie, coffee and anywhere else I need/want a sweeter flavor. Just wish I’d known about monk fruit that doesn’t have erythritol added to it, a long time ago. At least I know now and really do enjoy it. I use 8-12 drops as I really want my stuff sweet! It’s lasting quite awhile and I definitely plan to reorder! Just don’t forget to refrigerate after opening!

The best sweetener for those with sensitive stomachs
This sweetener is my favorite. I used it exclusively to sweeten my drinks and treats. It usually takes around 5-16 drops to sweeten drinks and 20-30 to sweeten baked goods. Thus, one bottle goes a long way. It is similar to liquid stevia so I have had good luck substituting it in place of it. The benefit of using this it doesn't have a bitter aftertaste, allowing you more wiggle room in how sweet you make things. The only downfalls of using this instead of sugar is that it is concentrated, meaning that it doesn't give baked goods the bulk many of them need. However, you can try adding it to different things to help bulk recipes up, such as yogurt or eggwhites. The other downfall is that it does take an adjustment to get used to the taste. For me, it took about two months before I was completely in love with it. For those with sensitive stomachs, I would like to include: I have intolerances to almost every sweetener on the market, be it real or fake. So when I found Monkfruit it was like a heaven-sent. It doesn't cause any of my symptoms, like sugar, honey, erythritol, xylitol, ect. do. So if you are having issues with these sweeteners, I would absolutely give this a go.

Second Order Questionable, Ingredient List Missing, No Response from Company
UPDATE: we’ll sadly as promised I need to update my review because of negative changes. For my second order I ordered 2 bottles. One was dark brown like the first one and the second was was golden. I started reading reviews and became concerned about sourcing and the company itself, located here in CA, not responding to consumer questions…so I did some digging. The company’s address is listed to a residence. So where is this product manufactured and processed? A foreign country? Someone’s garage? I don’t know because they don’t respond. A nutritionist also noted that the language on their bottle is misleading.. It reads it’s “100% Monk Fruit Extract,” which means it is NOT 100% Monkfruit. They don’t give us the ingredients in the “extract.” Is it Glycerin? Solvents? Preservatives? Water? What percentages? People have allergies, interactions, etc and this SHOULD BE printed on the bottle, but it isn’t. He was also concerned about the fact that although both bottles were from Lot#0624 22, one was dark brown and the other light golden. He said that makes no sense. I will be calling Amazon, getting a refund and addressing their lack of appropriate labeling by Smart138. This is the only monkfruit, I found that doesn’t have any additives, not even water. The color is dark as the other review mentioned, but maybe because it isn’t watered down? I let it sit for months before trying it though - I’m not sure of the original color or if that matters? The shelf life of the bottle I received was about 14 months which is pretty darn good. I LOVE the dropper - you can actually count the number of drops instead of guessing with a dropper “fountain” spraying like a stream, playing a daily guessing game and wasting the product. I used 12 drops in my Coffee the first time and got a horrible aftertaste, I went to 8 drops today and it’s much better, but will lessen again tomorrow. It’s all a matter of personal taste, but I like it and I hate every other artificial sweetener I’ve tried. The bottle doesn’t leak during travel which is also good and the safety seal is full body of the bottle, big plus. I will purchase again and update if there are any changes, good or bad.

Suitable for bold coffee and teas
Find it takes around 13-15 drops to taste it in bold coffee. Less than that you barely taste the sweetness. Says teaspoon of sugar = 1 drop. Likely need less for less bold flavoured drinks like mint tea

Not sweet enough as per price
It’s not sweet enough. You have to put too many drops for sweetness. Also seems to have a bit bad aftertaste.

Give it a try
Give it a try, you won't regret it. Not only is this a great sweetener it helps regulate your blood sugar. I add to water then drank it before and after my indulgence with no sugar spike. Tastes great.

Aftertaste
It made my tea sweet but I don’t like the aftertaste.
