I have very noticeably thinning hair & I typically use fibers or wear hats. This is my first time using a volumizing powder & I was really shocked at how well it worked. If you use too much you might see a grayish cast. A little goes a long way & I was amazed that I didn't actually feel like I needed to add fibers--I never let anyone see me w/o fibers or a hat on. I do want to try this with fibers but on its own it lifted my hair up & made it seem twice as thick, but not in a fake over the top way! I was able to style it so that my thinning wasn't apparent in the moderate lighting of my house. I was able to wear my hair "naked"(ish) in front of my boyfriend. I look forward to trying this with my caruso rollers (haven't used them yet!) & fibers. One thing though is that you shouldn't expect your hair to be ultra soft. It's going to feel a little gritty, though it's still much softer than regular hair spray. Also you shouldn't leave it in your hair too long or it can get matted, but that's just common sense. I did wear a hat over it the last couple days because I've been crazy busy & that probably made the tangling worse BUT it actually KEEPS hats on my head! It was like a mild adhesive holding my new slouchy beanie in place. I've never been able to keep those on for long enough without bobby pins! It's pricey but I'll definitely be a repeat customer. It's worth it. Can't ignore anything that helps my hair this much!

I bought shampoo& conditioner combo and the boldify hair volumizer. Knew moment I started shampooing this product was different. It felt so clean, almost luxurious. Didn't feel sudsy as other shampoos but right away hair felt thicker and softer. It was amazing! Pretty but understated fresh smell to shampoo. Had no dry screechy feeling hair just heavenly good feel. I followed up with the conditioner (not much of any smell). Dramatic difference! I have fine color treated long thinning hair. Other products leave it tangled and straw feeling, even right after conditioning; it's nightmare combing (usually huge wad in the "tangle free" comb. Not this product! Boldify made it feel really soft healthy, fuller, no harsh dry feeling, minimal tangle and hair stayed in head not brush! Later in the day I tried the volumizer spray to give it quick pep after ponytail. I read previous reviews so decided to put some in hands work thru with fingers. DON'T push the pump all the way down or you'll get surprise poof of shiny snowflake looking stuff lol... A little of this product all I needed. Did what it was supposed to wasn't sticky, no white residue. Boldify is incredible!! Went little low on stars since first thing using but believe it may be my new go to hair regimen!!

Many customers said that it didn’t work the way they had been told it would. I think these people must have applied it incorrectly. Someone with fine hair needs to do a video that shows EXACTLY how much of the product to use, and how and where to apply it. It’s a terrific product, and it DOES add volume to fine hair. I use it on the top of my head, and ONLY AT THE ROOTS. It works great in my hair. I can’t say if using it on the sides/back of the head works because just the hair on top of my head is flat and limp. I’d think it’d be hard to apply it correctly on areas other than the top of the head. Pour it on the hair and it will make the hair clumpy, unmanageable and very difficult( and almost impossible) to brush out. You have to know what you’re doing for it to work as advertised. Those of you who hated how it “performed”, bring it to your next hair appointment and ask the stylist to show you how to properly apply it. When used correctly, it’s a godsend for fine, flat hair!

This is an interesting product, but didn’t work for me. I have thinning hair and was hoping this would add a little grip at the roots and make my hair look like it had more density. This product comes out as a very soft POOF of powder. The problem is the poof comes out too concentrated and lands in one spot. It doesn’t diffuse, one spray covered one square inch of my roots. I tried to rub it in to spread it out further, but it wouldn’t move. The spray pump is difficult to maneuver. If I tilt the bottle forward, a little poof, if I how hold it upright, I get a huge poof of powder, but if i tilt it backward, I get a diffused puff. Its too difficult to tilt something back and aim the product where you want it. But i can see this stuff working for someone who wanted to wear their hair up. It almost works like teasing to give you grippiness so the hair will stay up and not slide down.

This dry hair powder is the real deal. It gives my straight, fine, heavy, oily hair volume and texture. My hair is cut in an asymetrical pixie, and usually by the end of the day it has gone flat, even if I dry it with a round brush. As others have mentioned, the product takes a bit of getting used to, and is for use on DRY HAIR ONLY. Try sprinkling a little on your fingertips, and massaging into your roots. Or for super volume, separate your hair into sections, and sprinkle directly on your roots from the bottle. Style your hair with your fingers immediately, because once the powder is in your hair, your hair is going to STAY in that style. Your hair will be sticky at that point, and you won't be able to comb or brush it. Be careful with finishing hair sprays, or your hair will be a sticky mess. It's best to either skip using hairspray, or use a hairspray meant for a dry finish. I also like Boldify's root spray, so check it out. These products are pricey, but if you take advantage of the free product offer, the price becomes reasonable. Enjoy!!

I almost didn't try this product because I've been using Boldify Root Boosting Spray, and I love it. But I thought this might be a good alternative (root boosting spray goes on wet hair, volumizing powder goes on dry hair). I have straight, thin, fine hair. I spent several days testing the Hair Volumizing Powder on one side of my hair so I could see how it looked. I can clearly see the lift and volume. This is great to have on those days when I didn't bother to style my hair after washing it because I didn't think I was going to see anyone and then had my plans change. A tip: Use the volumizing powder sparingly. If you're accustomed to liquid hair products that spray with a pump or thicker ones that are in containers with propellants, the delicateness of this powder and its application takes a little getting used to. The first time I used it, it was so silent coming out of the container that I didn't realize it was actually getting on my hair and I way overdid it. Watch in the mirror to see how much is coming out and start with a little, adding more if you need it.

I currently use the PUFF ME (which I love) volumizing powder. Anyone who uses these knows that most of them are sticky, clumpy, etc. The puff me is a very fine powder and gives some volume but you have to use a lot more if you want added volume, which is why I ended up trying this one. Based on the experience that I had with Puff Me, my expectations for this were high; especially after reading the reviews. this morning, I used it before work, and I am now spending the rest of my day livid as my head looks like a giant bird nest. My normal hair texture is fine, but I have lots of it and have an a-line bob with an undercut. I generally only use the volumizing products in the crown area as this is all I need. I followed my normal routine; wash, bowdry, round-brush and volume powder. On the first spray of this stuff, it came out hard and fast and very granular looking... ok... proceed to spray 2 and I used only half a spray and I got the same thing. I proceeded to try to work with it, and the more I attempted to brush it out, the more matted and disgusting it looked to the point that I cannot get a brush through it. I am sitting at work now and God only knows what the hell is going on in the back of my head. I had freshly washed hair to start with and it now looks like I have 3 day old hair with a crap load of dry shampoo and texture spray in it. I requested a return,, and unfortunately will continue to pay up for the puff me. Save yourself the pain and sticky fingertips; do not buy this trash.... 1 star was the only option.
