I have super thin hangers with felt. They measure close to the regular plastic hangers used with your product. Will it still work?

Likely will work fine. I use just regular wire hangers and they fit ok. I had another product called Hangadanga from years ago, now discontinued, that I prefer much more than this one. This is a little flimsy, probably work fine if it's just kept in place, not moved around much. I rotate mine between closet and laundry.

How many hangers does it hold?

It depends how you put them on there. I have one that I use for kids hangers, I've never really counted how many it holds but I have had 15 and it was not full. I have one that I use for larger hangers. I have 15 on it right now and it is not half way full. I have them on the caddy as it is pictured here where you slide them over the caddy. Will it hold kid hangers?

Opening is too small for kid hangars, but it works pretty good if you hang them from the crossbar. My daughter is 6 and it can hold a decent number of her hangars this way without being unbalanced.
