Review: Great megger despite the low price. - I like being able to calibrate the needle and I like the adjustable voltage output. I had a 480v 3 phase motor that was tripping a vfd on a ground fault intermittently but would run no problem on bypass. I put this megger to it and it tested ok at 250v, very sketchy at 500v, and an apparent direct short to ground at 1000v. I was very impressed that a $200 meter was able to clearly show evidence of insulation break down. We had the motor redipped and replaced. The motor megged good at 1000v.
