Q: Can this cut 1" brass pipe? The Outside diameter of 1" brass pipe is 1.32". Thanks.

Its maximum opening ability is 1 and 1/8 inch so although it will cut copper it does not sound like it will open wide enough.

Q: How close to a fitting will this get to for a cut?

Not sure... but I can tell you that the tool body is 1" wide (blade is positioned in middle), the football shaped knob is 1 5/16" at its widest point and the height of the tool is 2 5/8" to about 3" depending what size tube you are cutting.
