I'm 44 and started turning gray when I was 25, but it wasn't until a few years ago that it became pretty noticeable and I started using JFM products. It's fast and easy. Some say it permanently stains things, but that's not true. I've overlooked splatters on floor and wall tiles, wood surfaces and countertops before. After sitting for hours, the spots still cleaned up and disappeared. Some spots cleaned up with water, others required a little squirt of cleaner...some wiped right off, others required a little bit of scrubbing. My hair is naturally medium brown in color. I tried the medium brown and it made my hair look very dark brown. I tried light brown and it's ok for winter use, but still darker than my natural color. This one turns the gray to blonde and doesn't darken the brown much. I like it as it looks very natural. It doesn't last as long as I would like it to. When I use the brown shades, it works for 3-4 weeks. This one normally lasts about 2-3 weeks. It also fades more quickly with exposure to sun and chlorine. I'm sure how often you wash your hair will affect it, too. My hair is about 3/4" to 1" long and I wash it daily, shampooing twice. I use a shampoo from the salon that's supposed to be designed to preserve color. I normally use the rubber gloves, but don't put vaseline on my skin along the hairline. I used to put vaseline on my skin when I first started using the product. But, I normally tried to use most of the bottle at once, so it got everywhere. Without vaseline, I just had to scrub my skin with soap along the hairline to get the color off. Without gloves, it gets under my fingernails where it stays for a day unless I take the time to wash it out. I used to treat it as if I had a lot of shampoo in my hair and I scrubbed my head with it. It splattered a lot, so I started using it in the shower. When finished, I could just rinse away all the splatter spots with the shower head. But, I use the product differently now; My hair is short and I only need about half of the bottle. So, I mix about half of it into a seperate bottle and apply it to my hair, then comb it through. I use it in the shower with a mirror to be sure I cover everything. It still splatters a little now and then, but the splatters are normally gone after I shower. Overall, I like the product, I just wish it lasted longer.

This stuff looks natural (if you use a lighter shade than you think you need), is easy to apply, and lasts about a week. You can get 2 to 3 applications out of each kit by: 1) pour 1/3 to 1/2 the volume of each bottle into a tray you saved from their beard and mustache kit, 2) just coursely (not uniformly) apply to hair and beard using the mustache kit brush, and 3) leave on for 7-10 minutes before showering. Or, you can use the whole kit in one application, cover every hair uniformly, and have uniformly colored hair like a bad toupe. Have never gotten any skin irritation or hair damage. Beard and mustache formula is thicker so it may be a little easier to apply to beard. But both work fine for beard or hair.

My husband began getting a skunk stripe when he was 36 or so. It developed over time to become wider and whiter. The rest of his hair has gotten lighter and lighter and he is 42. It was really aging his face having all the grey in his beard, hair and side burns so I got him this for Christmas to try out. It was an easy process, just followed the directions. The color transfers to skin though, so don't be too messy. After his shower he appeared to be the person I married in his 20s, very amazing how hair color can change your age. I would say if I could start the whole process again, I would have had him rinse a minute earlier and added more to his sideburns and beard earlier. But, we can still fix the beard to be darker and let the color fade a little before the next time. All in all, the color was exactly like his original hair and it was a very easy process.

This is a pretty good way to keep the memory of blond in my hair, at least if I use it moderately; at 76, it’ll be noticeable if my hair turns dark brown overnight. A single prepped bottle is good for several applications, unless you have a lot of hair and need that dark shade.

I have been using this hair color once a month since 1996 when my sister suggested I should color my hair. It was mostly all grey at the time. It works really good and lasts about a month. I also use it on my mustache however it takes a couple additional applications or touch-ups to take since that hair is a little coarser. In summer it always comes out a little darker because as it dries it gets darker and being hotter it dries faster but you still need to be thorough. When it is really hot I put it in the refrigerator to cool it down before using it. They also have the hair coloring shampoo in a light and darker shade which I use the lighter shade occasionally if I want to wait a week or two before hair coloring which always comes out with the best results. You can try the shampoo before the hair color and gradually color your hair to see if you like it or not. You always need to wear gloves with either products to avoid staining your fingernails. My hair color years ago was considered a dirty blonde and the shade I use is the dark blonde / light brown. It is a little darker than my hair color ever was but it looks good / natural. A friend I worked with years ago tried a lighter shade I want to say sandy blonde and not even sure of the brand but I remember it did not look as natural. Going to any color from grey will definitely make you look younger and who doesn’t want that?

colour came out correct, as this is not always the case..easy to use, takes a long time to come from USA
