RT50 Handi-Hose And Reel

I purchased one of these hoses 5 years ago to replace a standard hose. I use it exclusively on my sailboat. Compact storage is of primary importance. I use this hose to fill the fresh water tanks and also for washing. The original remained odor free and contributed no off flavor to the drinking water througout it's life. The reason I had to replace it is because first a bulge and eventually a leak developed where the hose connects to the female connector. This was caused more by my abuse than anything else. Great hose! Great price!

So far it works good, but it does kink very easily. Update: Not worth the money. Just in a matter of a couple months it starts leaking through the material it's made from. Definitely not for every day use.

I really really like this thing. No more fighting with big hoses or having water drip in my RV. Unfortunately it only lasted about 1 RV season (daily use for about 5 months) before it started leaking in 1,000 different spots, seriously its comical how much it leaks now.

Very happy with the product - as there is very little storage space on our boat - its a great space saver!

it does the job of what I wanted to do. Like the fact that it's super long. HOWEVER, to wheel this long thing back, it's such a pain! It's hard to drain all the water completely to wheel the thing back in the case. It's white so it gets dirty super fast. But it's compact so, it's easy to store and doesn't take up a lot of spaces.

Makes hook-up and unhooking so much easier. Also keeps hoses stowed when getting other equipment out of the docking compartment. The winder is very sturdy, yet not too heavy. The hoses have good quality connectors. I recommend a pressure regulator at the spout in a high pressure RV park. By virtue of flattening the hose, it squeezes the water out really well. I did learn to remove all kinks from the hose before I start winding. A kink can cause the water in the hose to stop the winding process.

It works very well, durable hose much better than the Pocket Hose. I choose this over the Pocket hose. Pocket hose falls apart in a week.

I didn't thoroughly read all the critical reviews of this product before purchasing and now I'm regretting it. I have one other flat hose on a reel that is getting old and I wanted to replace so I purchased this one. This product doesn't function at all like my other hose. 1.) This hose must be fully unrolled to be used. The fabric nature of the hose means it will not stay flat (as my previous flat hose does) and when I partially unreeled the hose and turned on the water it basically busted out of the hose housing. My other flat hose was made of firmer plastic where it kept it's flat shape even when in use. 2.) This hose kinks like crazy. Again, due to the fabric-like material the hose is too soft and if the hose gets a kink in it you've got to fight with it to straighten out so the water will run at full pressure. The only positive thing about the weak nature of the hose here is that you will still have some water pressure when it kinks. Other reviewers have commented on the difficulty in rolling the hose back up. I didn't even try to return it to its spool - it just got heaped in a pile. I only used the item once and cannot comment on stability/leaking issues. This item's use is likely limited to a very infrequently used hose in a spot where space/weight matter a lot.
