Pairfect Design Line 4-Ply by Arne & Carlos Sock Yarn (9136 - Garden)

This yarn makes great Sox. It is so fun to be able to make matching Sox without lots of figuring. It is also very soft and not too heavy.

What a brilliant idea! Two matching colorway socks from one skein. Directions are easy to follow, though you need your own top down knitted sock pattern. I like to knit two socks at a time using circular needles (why knit one at a time when you can knit two?) I was able to do this by winding the first ball from the center pull up to the second sock change over, cutting the yellow yarn, then winding the second sock yarn. Then I then re-wound each ball so that I would begin each sock from the beginning top down per the directions. I’m 2/3rds done and it’s working beautifully. So I’ve ordered another skein and colorway. I highly recommend for beginner or experienced knitters. Pairfect yarn color Forest.

I love this yarn! It starts at the 1x1 ribbed "cuff" then the design begins on the leg, when the solid color ends, you knit 2 rounds, then start the heel. If you follow the directions on their YouTube video, the heel will use the amount of yarn correctly for the heel, but it you vary the amount of cast-on stitches or your favorite heel varies, you'll run out of heel yarn and the patterned yarn begins (however, who the heck is going to see it, that part of the heel is on the bottom of the foot?). Continue the foot part of the sock, and the toe is very long, but there is a lot of extra yarn for longer feet. The yarn design pattern only works for top-down socks. Arne & Carlos showed on YouTube what it looks like if you try to start with the top-up. I love this yarn so much, I bought MANY of the different colorways. I'm on the toe of my 3rd pair & will begin my 4th pair today, Christmas. My favorite heel is the afterthought heel, but I tried different heels on each skein/ball of their colorful yarn. You will have fun watching the color changes of all the different colorways, each pattern different. I use to dislike knitting socks, but Arne & Carlos' yarn design made me love knitting them & it goes surprisingly fast. Oh, one negative is that the yarn may be a little think for your regular shoes, but should be okay for athletic shoes or SAS shoes. I had to go up a half-size in regular shoes. KNIT ON as Elizabeth Zimmerman would say on her TV shows & videos.

Loved the ease of finding how to start the second sock yarn was easy to knit

This is my first attempt with Regia Pairfect, and It won't be my last. I had been avoiding knitting any cuff-down socks because I hate Kitchener stitch so much. However, I am glad that I bit the bullet with this. I love that the socks match perfectly. I love that I know exactly when to end the cuff, when to start the heel. Just a note, this yarn is very sticky; it just loves itself. As a consequence, there are times when there is unavoidable yarn barf (if you are using the center pull method) as the yarn catches on itself deep inside the skein, tightens up, and won't let go. Yarn barf doesn't bother me at all, nor do tangles. About midway through the second sock, the looseness of the skein at that point caused it to do this with a fair bit of regularity, so I decided to rewind the ball from the outside to eliminate the issue. There comes a time in most center-pull skeins when the skein becomes too loose and floppy and I decide to rewind for the remainder of the project; with this, it needed it a bit sooner than I would ordinarily have rewound, but it really wasn't any bother.

Not happy that there is a break in the yarn pattern on each skein. This is a self striping sock yarn. To stay true to pattern repeat, I may have some loss of yarn. I realize that this can happen from time to time but, both skeins on order is frustrating.

I love the ease of the MATCHING BOTH SOCKS . I always have to pull a lot of yarn with other brands to get a perfect match when knitting socks. PAIRFECT. WITH Arne and Carlos design was a joy and with Ample yarn for knitting larger size as well. I have gifted the socks and get nothing but praise , designs, and colors are beautiful. I highly recommend and look forward to more patterns from Arne and Carlos.

So far so good! No pattern on label. The label has instructions on how to use this yarn, but you need your own basic pattern. My first attempt ever and with the help of my daughter...it's coming along nicely!
