Can this be hung in a ceiling with drop in tiles?

yes, it's hooked up just like any other light fixture. I love this light fixture and get so many compliments.

Is this UL rated for damp areas? I understand if I want to install this over a free standing bath tub it should be UL rated for damp areas.

I have 2 of these hanging over my island & 1 over my master bath jet tub. I don't know if it is UL rated but my bathroom is very large w/ 2 vents & does not get very moist. Had it up for over 1 year & no problem. This light is on the small side though, so it looks petite over my tub if that is the look you are going for.
